i lived here for about 3 years and the last 2 1/2 years were the worst in my life. drugs run rampant and the so called courtsey officers are paid off to allow the drug business to boom. water bugs were nonpaying occupants and nothing was ever done. we were out of town celebrating mine and my nephews b-days and the toilet over flowed down in to apartment below and was told my dog chew the think metal pipe behind the toilet and caused the leak my dog came with us so how could she chew the pipe. they charged me for the plumber, parts, and carpet cleaning for 2 apartments that were never cleaned. then summer comes and no a/c for 3 days yet they were working on it so i filed a complaint with city of mesquite. 2 months before my lease was up i told them that i would not be renewing my lease in december. well on nov. 25 i get a eviction letter saying i had 7 days to vacate my apartment well fine i was leaving anyway but no i get a letter from the constable that i had to appear in court the next day and was told it was the court at the mesquite police department needless to say i never made it to the right court house. i sat in the wrong courtroom for almost an hour waiting for my name before the court officer told me i was in the wrong building. the constable was one of the paid off courtsey patrol officer. hillcrest is the worst apartments ever.

From what you described Hillcrest at least takes care of maintenance issues. Sounds to me like you didn't pay your November rent. You were lucky they waited till the 25th of the month to evict you. Even though you have given notice to vacate, you are still obligated to pay your rent on time every month as required by your lease until you are gone. Your deposit is a separate issue and should not be construed as rent. It's nobody elses fault that you didn't not go to the address on the summons for your hearing and I guarantee you that the bailiff in Judge Blackington's court was not involved in promoting drug activity....Now you're just talking smack! Sounds like you had a smart manager that wasn't going to let you get over on her!

Sounds like this is from a manager? The place looks like a dump to me....Full of drugs, mess and nasty. I would NEVER rent there.
