If you look at their pictures online, and ask to see their "sample unit," you will see a charming, well-kept, sophisticated apartment complex. Living here is an entirely different story. I am a professional who was living here in a corporate suite for just a few months temporarily while working in Midland, and, there was nothing "corporate" or "suite-like" about it. The primary problem is the condition. It is very old and worn, and many things do not work properly. It would take little effort or money to replace/repair these items, and yet they choose not to! Let me just give you some examples: The cabinets and countertops are scarred, and the baseboards in the bathroom were busted apart so that you could see into the foundation. The appliances are severely scratched and dented, and appear to have been installed in the early 1980s. The walls have not been repainted since several tenants ago. The ceilings have stains from leaks from other apartments. The sink and bathtub are cracked, chipped and have pieces of the porcelain completely missing so you can see the black underneath, and the faucets on the bathtub are broken. The sink never did drain properly. The air conditioner thermostat was broken, so you can only turn it ON or OFF like a window unit, and so it's either too hot or too cold since it s not regulating the temperature. The vent to one of the bedrooms was not installed properly, so it never got cool-- this with temps 113 degrees outside. There were also problems with safety and with sanitary conditions. There was hair from previous tenants clogging the drain in the sink and in the bathtub. The apartment smelled like mildew, cigarettes, and other people's animals (carpet needs to be replaced because of urine stains)-- a wonder for my allergies. There is an ant and cockroach problem. The screens on the windows were torn, and the locks on many of the windows didn't work. I discovered the day after moving in that my mailbox had been broken into at some point, as evidenced by the scar marks in the metal around the lock, and the lock or mailbox door never did function properly-- I could open the mailbox lock without the mailbox key! The one really good thing about this place is that it is well-insulated, because I hardly ever heard my neighbors, which was a blessing. Yet, this place was not fit for corporate housing, and is really not fit for human habitation of any kind. They really ought to be ashamed for renting something out in this poor of condition. You will regret it if you move here. I really can't say it any plainer than that.

you're lucky to have gotten an apartment the way it is around here. And keep in mind it is an apartment not a new house. people have lived there before you did . if you want what your asking for build a house.

They will show you a very nice apartment. The outside looks pretty good and the community ammenities you see are very nice. They will NOT let you look at your apartment before you move in. It is against there policy to show until everything is done and more they will be finishing up when you move in. You can not get a couch into the upstairs 2 bedrooms. When they give you a tour they tell you this is the most recently renovated apartment complex in Midland and that the rooms are much nicer than you will find elsewhere. We took the bait and paid more than some of the other places and much more than we were paying at our previous apartment. The appliances are the ugliest 70s-80s garbage you ever saw. The paint is so think on the walls it moves if you lean up against it. Use the windfall from the windfall you are getting in 800 rent and fix your Gosh dang apartments! This is West Texas and if you people don't clean up your crap it is gonna come back to bight you when living expenses become more reasonable. I've lived in apartments for 8 years through school and as a professional and I have never felt more defrauded or lived in a worst value. The worst thing is once they get you, you are trapped for a while because you have to get on another waiting list or find a house. I think it is time we all report them to the BBB and to the apartment associations.

Considering that no new apartments except subsidized housing have been built in Midland since the 80's you're lucky to get in at all. There's no incentive to upgrade much either when everything is full. So you're going to get screwed - live with it. They did do an upgrade a couple years ago but did nothing with the interiors, just the facade and they actually made it worse - you used to have a private patio/balcony; now you have that fugly iron grate. They were pretty good when I moved out (moved back to DFW).
