Be for-warned if looking at signing a lease at Chateau. I've been here for a few years. It has gotten worst with the new owners. I see them trying to salvage a lost venture and make as much profit before placing the runned down place back on the market. I saw first hand repairs that would not pass an inspection. I'm surprised there have not been any fires post Rita. I spend alot of time away and working on the road so Chateau is only a temp housing for me, I've had two break-ins, most times when something is in need of repair, I fix it myself. I built a nice awning outback to shelter me from the elements (it withstood the winds of Rita) but some idiot decided it needed to be removed. There's constant flooding at my doorstep even with light rain. There has been a substantial rise in the number of police responses to Chateau Nedeland. Yes, there were repairs made after the hurricane and it seems the owners want us the renters to pay again for what the insurance has already paid for. Go elsewhere my friend, you'll be happier in the end!
