This is how I look at this place. My wife and I moved into Equestrian Point in march 2005. In September, my mother in law found out she had cancer and my wife wanted to be closer to her. The only problem was her mom lives in Alaska and we lived in obviously Texas. We had signed a one year lease so I went down and spoke with the property manager to see what our options were. She told me the only option was to pay the remainder of the balance in full before we moved. I asked her if she could get me a total payout and she told me she would have to call me later, she didnt have time. 9 days later I recieve a call from her stating we owed $4967.81. Well here is the problem with this, our rent was $436.00 a month making this amount only $264.19 less then a full years rent''' I told her there was no way for us to pay it but I could just mail my rent check every month. She said that would that if we did that we would be required to leave on the electrictiy, continue to pay the water bill, and that we would still be responsible for the unit. Thats what got me the worst. I said "We would be responsible' We will be over 4000 miles away." She said "Since you would be puting me in such a bind by doing this Im sure something would happen to it." Word for word no lies. We moved on anyways thinking of our family and not "the bind we would be puting her in". Six months after all of this, we get a letter from a collections agency regarding the account. Low and behold the amount do is still $4967.81. We disputed it with the agency and have since had it removed from our credit reports since we found out the rented out the unit before our lease was up. It all worked out ok in the end but it was way to much hassle for such a low rent apartment.
If you have any questions regarding this my name is Jordan Fabel and my email address is jafabel@gmail.com.
Hope you think twice before moving into these "Luxury Low Rent Apartments".

An anonymous office response no doubt! They could have worked with you since they planned to rent the place out anyway and you offered to pay off the contract.
