The apartments are decent and for the most part worth renting. a few things to keep in mind when thinking of renting are as follows. staff is inadequate and mostly ineffective. they state that they have pools but they are poorly maintained and often closed. if you want your apartment in great shape you have to call the office a lot to put in work orders. broken stove, electrical outlets are loose in the entirety of the apartment, dish washer, garbage disposal...etc. are a few examples of things that have been an issue in the apartment. poorly constructed so electric bills will triple during summer months as the ac runs constantly and provide very little relief. plumbing is decent it takes a while for hot and cold sometimes and toilets are a bit problematic. noise isn't too bad and neighbors are accomidating regarding noise issues if spoken with. Parking is a nightmare due to layout of parking spots there is never enough spots within a reasonable distance to your apartment. grounds are in sad shape very little foilage and they butcher the trees in a fashion that provides no shelter but normally keep clean at least. lighting is very poor on the grounds but otherwise my family feels fairly safe not to mention there is a police department just a couple of blocks away so response times to emergencies should be relatively quick. the high point in my opinion is the maintanence person who has come to our apartment multiple times for above mentioned reasons I always get the same maintenence person dispatched so others may not be as effective but he always does a great job fix's the equipment quickly and efficiently the only downside is having to go through the staff for work orders so he can do his job. The laundry facilities are horrible. our laundry unit has broken windows no AC/Heater, machines are small, old, and in poor repair often malfuntion, cost is $1.00 per use. and best of all to use them you have to pay $2 for a card to operate them and the card will not allow you to go below a balance of $2, once it hits that mark it will not work unless you go to the office within office hours and add more money to it as this is the only way to add money. so if you need to do laundry on a evening or night schedule go somewhere else. The only other complaint that it is mandatory for renters insurance so you can essentialy add $20 a month to the rent quote they give, and the water bill must be paid at the same time as the rent. THEY WILL NOT ACCEPT A RENT PAYMENT THAT DOESN'T INCLUDE WATER IF YOU DON'T PAY THE WATER BILL THEY CONSIDER YOUR RENT NOT PAID FOR THAT MONTH! which for summer months you can expect your water bill to be around $79 a month so during the summer your rent payment can become much higher than you would expect with the quote given. for example if you pay your rent the same day you pay the renters insurance during the month of august for a 2/2 your total payment can easily be a hundred dollars more than the listed price of the apartment.

After all of that you still started off with, "The apartments are decent and for the most part worth renting."? There are obvious health and safety concerns with this complex as I've stated many times before and as you yourself have just pointed out. PLEASE, do not encourage someone to live here in ANY way. And btw, the police response time can be very poor depending on which part of the complex you are in. If you are near the line between NRH and Hurst, the police will argue as to who's jurisdiction you are in before responding. There was an earlier post by another person in regard to this issue.
