I'd like to address the security and hidden costs issues others have raised here. It's very true what others have said about SilverCreek attaching "hidden costs" when you move out. From carpet cleaning fees on flooring that will still be replaced anyway to fees for replacing blinds that are in perfect working order, YOU WILL PAY additional fees when you move out, no question. Also, the security issue is a very serious one. While crime is common in any big city, the numerous muggings, vandalism, and other robberies at SilverCreek are not something to take lightly. SilverCreek appears to be far safer than the Northridge apartments a block down the street, but I would still highly recommend you be very careful in this complex. From multiple purse grab and run incidents (including our next door neighbor) to countless auto break-ins, and Federal Marshalls raiding an apartment and walking the suspect out in handcuffs while I walk my daughter to school one morning, SilverCreek has it all.
I'm ashamed to admit that I have lived here for 4 years, started to leave once and they offered to lower the rent if I stayed - I fell for it like a sucker. Recently the complex is going down hill fast however, English has become a second language around here in the past year. The drainage problem in the playground is a serious health hazard; especially with North Richland Hills being a prime area for West Nile Virus incidents, there is standing water surrounding the playground for several days after a rain. The trash pickup is beyond hilarious, management cannot seem to keep people from throwing trash bags anywhere they like any day of the week - makes the place look beautiful... The Phase II workout center was closed for a year due to vandalism, it's open now - but the vandalised broken equipment is still there.
I cannot in good faith reccommend SilverCreek to anyone, unless of course you're moving up from the NorthRidge apartments.
