Not what it's cracked up to be

Years at this apartment: 2008 - 2008
I've lived in this apartment for 3 months and it's like living in a hotel. People smoke on their balconys so you have that lovely aroma drifting in your windows. They also party on them. It's like being in college all over agin. Noise, smoke, yelling, doors banging all at 3a.m. Nice when you actually have a job and have to get up in the morning.
They don't monitor the gates very well either. Sometimes they close, sometimes they don't. Have had 3 salesmen in the 3 months I've been here. Upon asking one how she got in her reply was,"the gate was open". Staff in the front office is changing constantly. Always young ditzy girls to appeal to the "man in you." But it would probably be a nice place to work since most of the staff lives on property at a heafty discount, I'm sure. The water bills are supposedly read remotely. For 2 people and doing 3 loads of laundry a week, the bill is the same as owning a 2000SF house with a swimming pool. They charge you $1.00 pest control, wheather or not you use it but, it doesn't control the rats and raccoons that I've seen eating the garbage that they want you to leave curbside. BTW, they only collect that 3x a week. The rest they want you to walk a city block to the only dumpster available that's always full to overflowing.
Parking is catch as you can and if you can't get one next to your building, a lot of the time because of staff cars, you have to park across the street in the mud. Nice when it rains.
Insulation isn't what they say, so be prepared to pay for that electric bill. Either heating or A/C. The only thing the complex says they pay for is gas. Guess what' There's nothing gas in the apartment.
If you want to speak to a member of management, you had better be available M-F from 9-5 because that's the only time she's here.If you're lucky. Never seen her and of course she's not here on week-ends. Good luck with that, if you want to speak to someone in charge.
As for maintenance, they seem to be the only ones that are competent. The apartment wasn't cleaned when we moved in though, I don't see that as a maint. problem. There was urine on the toilets and the carpet hadn't been cleaned. Walking on it in white socks left the bottoms black with dirt.
Overall, I'd say skip this overpriced overblown place.
