Oh boy!! It seems like this complex, (now known as Emerald Point), is this close to being a vacant lot! For first few years, things were okay except for the unusually high submetered light bill. Still the manager they originally had was nice and flexible. She was willing to work with you as well, and was a friend to many. And she certainly wasn't slimey or cold-blooded like this new one, who just took over in late August/September! She won't get necessary work or maintenace done at all, she acts rude and snotty if you try to reason with her! She has fired all but one of the maintenance workers for no good reason! Many things around the complex have been seriously neglected to the point that children can be hurt and killed! I've seen several grills on top of the ACs busted wide open for almost 3 months, and nothing has been done to prevent a child from putting his/her hands in there! Or putting objects in there that could cause a fire! There is even an old building that has a large window busted in and broken glass still lying on its windowsill! You call this safe' Many places throughout the complex are either poorly lit or completely dark because they refuse to maintain and fix burned out security lights! It is real scary to walk in around the apartments at night! When it comes to getting things fixed like the Housing Inspector requests so your inspection will be approved, you can forget it. She don't bother reading it at all, and there is no use in asking her constantly to do it. She'll just put rude and threatening notices of eviction on your door, even though she has no valid reasons to give you one! The eviction notices themselves are a REAL joke! They are never properly validated( i.e., fake), and are always missing vital pieces of info! She might as well just be writing an eviction notice on a Post-it Note! We have had to put up with a nasty mold problem in our apartment she refuses to deal with, even though me and my child have severe allergies and asthma! And speaking of not reading, apparently she never read or studied Tenant Rights and Texas apartment Rules and Laws! If she had, she wouldn't be trying to use non-renewal of lease as a means of retaliation because of contacting PUC and Fair Housing last year; even though *gasp* it had know bearing on them whatsoever in 2003! The outside is not very clean or well kept, and its not unusual to find broken glass or rotting trash on the parking lot and the ground. The sidewalks are badly erroded and in need of serious repairs, and so is the manager's attitude!Don't get me started with the washrooms or leaky sewage problems! Conclusion: Avoid this nightmare at all costs! It probably will end up shut down in a few months anyways!!!

Wow! What has this apartment complex come down to? I lived there back in '91 and it was nothing like this. The gates actually worked, grounds were pretty and I felt safe but now it's the total opposite. It just went downhill all the way to hell!
