This complex is unbelievable!!!! When i moved in in late 2005, I was asked to sign up for an assigned parking space which i was to be charged $20/mo. for. of when asked if the money would be used to fixe access gates which do not work, or the huge potholes in the parking lot, i was transferred to some rude woman who said she was the apartment manager and that she did not have to disclose what the money was to be used for. So i didn't sign up for the parking space, it's stupid to have to pay for a parking space when u already pay rent to live here and parking should be included. when i went to view the complex and complete the application, the apartment shown to me was very spacious and had been completely redone, new carpet, a huge bedroom and a hallway with a built-in vanity and i was told by the leasing agent that all the 1br apts were the same and would all be remodeled soon with the same carpet and 2-tone paint. when i went to pick up my key to move in the apartment i was given had this horrible carpet covered in stains, the living area and bedroom was half the size of the one i had been shown and the kitchen had no dishwasher and is so small that i cannot even open my refridgerator door all the way because it hits the cabinets on the other side of the kitchen. THEN, when i asked about the upgrades, i was told that they would replace the carpet and the broken blinds and repaint the apartment(which should be done for any new tenant) but that they would increase my rent to do so!!!!! at this point, i had already given notice at my old apartment and had no choice but to take the apartment but i made sure that i would not pay extra for the repairs and that i'd pay less rent because of the lack of square footage but let the leasing agent know that i would be looking to get either a large 1br with a regular kitchen...it's been over a yr and a half and they keep asking me to sign a 6 month lease so that i can give them more time to find another unit. unfortunately for me, these are the lowest price apartments in the area that include cable and utilities and as a single mom, that's all i can afford.
NOW ON TO THE PARKING... if u get home any late than 7, u can forget about parking even remotely close to ur building. they have wasted our time by making us go to the office and giving us these rediculous "Emerald Pointe" parking stickers for our vehicles that are totally useless!!! they have hired a towing service to remove any vehicles parked in fire lanes which leaves all the visitors parked in the regular parking spaces and the actual residents have to park on the other side of the property or even in the church parking lot across the street. I have given the management office the make and model and license plate number of a vehicle in the parking lot that has not been moved in 3 months and it is taking up a space but it has yet to be removed. then they rent to people who have 4 families living in one apartment and each one of them has a car or big truck so that's 4 parking spaces for 1 apartment...it's absolutely CRAZY
I agree with the people who say this is no place for children...i have seen guys smoking weed openly in the parking area, the maintenance men get together and bar-b-q and drink beer in the parking lot in front of their storage area, there are stray cats ALL OVER the place and i have called police on once occasion because of gunfire in the parking lot. there is NO SECURITY, ACCESS GATES DO NOT WORK EVEN THOUGH THEY ADVERTISE "ACCESS GATES" ON THEIR LISTINGS... if i could afford anyplace else i'd move in a heartbeat, til i can, i'll be making my complaints like usual.
