The Ownership and Management both are a Joke and think a 300.00/mo AC bill is acceptable even when there is a LARGE HOLE in the duct work!!!

i moved into this apartment ooohhh a 900sqft apt in february and have had nothing but a nightmare since then, my electric bills are steady climbing i have had a 207 electric bill, 270.00 electric bill and a 296.00 electric bill. i keep my AC around 80, and generally only have my TV on at night... and wow what an AC Bill the 207 electric bill was in the Early spring where i had the windows open alot but used the AC sometime, holy snot i am glad i didnt use the AC that month, I reported many times the AC issue becuase it ran all the time,,... at 80 on for 1 minute off for 30 seconds on for 1-2 minutes off for 30 seconds... well come to find out i had a large hole in the Duct work and there was ducting occluding my intake, the thermostat fell of the wall also, i have had the water go out in my main bathtub 2wice had to wait almost a week with 2-3 reminder phone calls that it was broke to fix it, i had my dishwasher have standing water in it 2 times that took in excess of a week to fix with multiple reminder phone calls, something was spewed allover my dishes that damanged my dishes, the garbedge disposal was broke with standing water and yuck in i,,, well i had to fix that myself, the AC vents upon move in were dirty, the water bill i was told when i signed my lease for 2 people was between 20-30 dollars period for 2 people i get my water bill its 70.00... they lied when i signed by lease on my water bill, the alarm on the front gate goes off constantly for hours after the drunken riff-raff that lives here knocks it off track, when i have called the answering service they were afraid to report it to maitence for fear of getting fired, so i have had to listen to the ear piercing alarm for at times in the excess of 5 hours in the middle of the night, i almost ran over someones unattened 2 year old, who ran toward my car... i could keep going on with the problems i have had, i have spoken to the managing company about the issues, and he is not being reasonable about fair compensation for there AC problems and my electric bill, i have spoken to another resident here whose bill is only 60.00 and he says he keeps his AC on like 73... hhhmmm I cant get the managing company now of Belco equities to call me back with a fair resolution to the Stress, and very high electric bills that i have had to endour.... well now he wont call me back at all... oh and the kicker of all of this is... even though i have been talking to the staff about my AC and my Bill they still felt fit to put a note on my door threating to turn off my power to my apartment becuase they said the electric bill wasnt in my name...HELLO WHY DO YOU THINK I HAVE BEEN TALKING TO YOU ABOUT THE ELECTRIC BILL CAUSE IT IS IN MY NAME.... oh and the staff here is now totally incomptent too...!!!! I cannot wait to move!!!!!

Hi--
I totally agree. We just moved out and I was very happy and relieved to be away from that apartment. The apartment is dusty, the carpet is worn, and my A/C bill was $213, very similar to yours. I keep the apartment at 78-80 ALL of the time and even hung up some of my clothes to dry instead of running the dryer to save money. Water bill is $107 as well--they tell me they have to "borrow water" but NO other apartments in the area charge as much.
The people who live around me are interesting to say the least--a group of teenagers (they can't be over 20) live across from us with two Great Danes and we had issues with cigarette butts everywhere--hundreds of them each week. Our apartment smelled of smoke and whatever the person upstairs is cooking. Our dishwasher broke many times as well, with stuff spewing up, and our hot water heater kept breaking multiple times until finally someone replaced it.
I could keep going...the price of the apartments is too high to compete with the new Broadstone which opened up across the street, and RHR gives a bad name to luxury. The management company needs to invest in upgrading the apartments to compete. The qualifications for people has gone down, and this is generally not a nice place to live. We spent two years at the apartment and am so glad we have moved. Our rent at RHR was $900, and for $980 we live in brand new, large apartment with a good management team and open play areas right behind our apartment. Wood floors, granite counters, open spaces, really really nice apartment...for $100 more a month. You do the math.
If you have a good rental history, good credit, go somewhere else. RHR, I would guess, is able to compete because they have lowered their qualifications.
This is your life--do you really want to take a chance? Maybe management will take note of the ongoing issues and complaints. Many complaints of the same nature point to an internal issue in the office, not just a few people blowing off steam.
