Ok, I can relate to almost everything written. I didn't have an issue with kids and I lived right across from the swimming pool, which was unavailable 80% of the time. Matter of fact in July of 07, there were notices all around it stating the board of health closed it until further notice. I totally agreed with that because alot of times that pool would be so nasty, I didn't understand how anyone would want to get in it. The entire year that I was there I saw adults in it one time, any other time - when it was open - there would be kids only. The exercise room is only open during office hours, 9-5. The garbage would be on the ground next to the dumpster but I accredit that to kids. Then animals would get in the bags and the wind would blow the trash everywhere. Once I saw kids breaking into the pop machines and I reported that to the people in the office. One lady said, well I guess I'll stop giving them free pops. The man said, next time you see them tell them to get one for me. Yes, I was shocked. Don't get me wrong, the office staff are nice and approachable, but didn't seem interested in handling 'the business' - which is what we need them to do. One time I paid my rent, and cable, but forgot to tack on the $20 water bill and they put a notice on my door saying if I didn't pay it, I would be charged a $100 late fee. I called them to clarify and they told me it was correct. I told that lady they are crazy, and she just laughed. I mean the water company doesn't charge you anywhere near that amount. The walls are thin. My kids heard our neighbors having sex a few times - how do you explain that noise' I just told the kids to turn up their tvs or radios. Oh, and the smoke alarms going off at 3am' The office staff said its a test. Yeah, but it startles the entire house out of their sleep only to be panicked because you don't know whats going on. All 3 alarms are going off, and there is no fire. I went outside and checked the entire building because I thought maybe someone else's apt was on fire. Nope, just a test, at 3am. The apt in and of itself was a very nice size but when I got my keys and went it, it was filthy. Yes it had new carpet but along the base of the walls was dog hair, throughout. Care to imagine what was under it' The tub in master bath room was full of dog hair and filthy, and the sink drain was full of hair to. Because I was in a rut, I had to take the place, but I refused to use that bathroom and left it for them to see when they came to clean it. That never happened. About a week and a half later I cleaned it myself and picked the nasty stuff out the drain. Oh yeah, over flowing toilets, per mgmt it was due to a calcium back up in the water. Nah, not good for a new tenant, and no I wouldn't recommend this place. Also I noticed people wouldn't stay past a year. The faces changed alot.

I agree. This place was the bomb when i move in about 4yrs ago. The place was well taken care of. Everytime i put in a work order, it was done with 48hrs. TODAY..It takes up to a month or longer. The police, fire department, EMS frequent the place. It's their second home. I bet if you called in a real emergency their take as a joke. SEE YOU WHEN I SEE YOU. Children Trash Drugs Onsite mechanics, you name, you find at WESTCHESTER HOODS.
