Brand new - $4.00 charge for your BILL!!!

We've lived here two years, now going on 3. Just renewed our lease and the last page is a new addendum stating that we will pay $4.00 a month for our bill that's mailed to us each month, which is absolutely ridiculous! There are zero alternatives to this and is, quite frankly, highway robbery.
I agree with all the posts regarding management-- it has gone downhill and customer service is very poor. Maintenace crews definately give their best but are clearly over worked.
The grounds themselves are nice; however, people tend to break into the mailboxes every couple of months, so you're best checking your mail by Wednesdays and Fridays.
Despite the ridiculous $4.00 charge, I like the grounds mainly due to the low population-- two stories and relatively low noise. New apartments down the street have opened and look nice; however, 3 and 4 story complexes lead to a very crowded complex.
We'll probably buy a home this next year, so hopefully we can put up with the lackluster management staff and surcharges for one more year.

I lived here for a couple of years and moved out when they started to increase the rents bigtime. This added charge of $4.00 doesn't really suprise me knowing how 'money hungry' they have become. Do what I did guys...wait till your lease is coming up and shop, shop, shop around! I got a killer deal at another apt. complex practically in the same zip code! & where I'm at, they don't charge you to get the rent bill...that's just plain wrong!!

Is this true? Are they really putting a $4.00 charge for a bill? This doesn't seem right, does it? How could they justify that?

We decided to stay since we'll probably buy a home in the next year, and we really didn't want to have to move again; but I agree, Monkeybusiness4, there are better places out there, probably cheaper-- if I planned to rent another couple of years, I would have moved.
To Anonymous - Yes, this is absolutely true (I couldn't believe it either)-- stop in the main office and ask. You can also leave feedback on Amli's site: I did and (surprsingly) received a call-- they couldn't really justify it; just that they'll 'actively pursue' other ways to opt out. Though I doubt anything will come of it.
