Hated to move from this community, but hated the long commute to work even more. Price was comparable to the area. I never used the amenities, therefore cannot comment on them. Actually, I did use the pool once...

Crime was never a serious problem, although it did exist in the community. There were times I left my car's windows down overnight and it was undisturbed. I almost feel safe enough to not lock doors, but that's pushing it a bit. On more than one occasion, a flyer was left on the door mentioning several home-invasion type crimes to units on the first floor. These crimes occurred when residents were home, or lights were on in the unit. Not all (or possibly any) of these crimes happened within this community, but in surrounding communities. Residents were warned of the potential, which I thought was a nice gesture from management.

Neighbors were great, although I rarely saw or said much to any of them. The community is quite diverse in demographics. For the most part, the community is young-to-middle-aged professionals and middle-class families. Some units have younger kids in them, but those are a minority. Like mentioned, I rarely talked to my neighbors, but this was in part due to my work schedule and hours. Children playing outside could get annoying on occasion, but kids are kids. I have, on occasion, nearly taken a few out like a bowling ball on a 7-10 split. I think my tires may have claimed at least one skateboard, but cannot verify. The neighbor's kid's friends had a bad habit of leaving their bike directly in front of my door. As a result, said bikes had a bad habit of ending up at the Goodwill Store. But for the most part, the kids were behaved. At least they don't go around scratching up vehicles.

The only maintance issues I've had in the two years of residence, have been the ice maker did not work when I first moved in. It was fixed within the first day. The second issue was the upstairs unit's dishwasher flooding into my kitchen. The problem was fixed within minutes of my contacting the office (in person). There was a followup a few days later to ensure no mold would be growing or cause any other problems. Third issue was a small kitchen fire in the unit above and over. My unit was unaffected, although did make for a fun night standing outside while the building was evacuated. Cosmetically, there was no damage to that or any other unit. However, I did lose a few quality hours of couch-vegitating, of which I was not reimbursed for.

Management during my first 1.5 years was excellent, in my very limited experience with them. After the community changed ownership and management staff, I had a few minor issues that were quickly resolved. Those issues will remain undiscussed, as they will most likely never involve the average resident. I have had no further dealings or issues with current management, and can only assume they are doing a good job.

Parking became more problematic as the units surrounding mine became occupied. It was also a problem if units had more than one guest vehicle. I was unbothered by it, because unlike many other sandy-vaginas posting on this site, I am not bothered by walking an extra 20 feet to get to my front door. Covered parking is provided, and is reserved, and is an additional monthly expense. For the most part, parking was sufficient--only on the rarest of occasions did I have to park very far from my front door. The community is not gated, but does not seem to be inviting to crime.

As far as noise goes, the only problems I had were with the unit above mine. They walked heavy-footed, and could easily be tracked as they walked across their unit. They also had a friend that liked to play loud music in the unit during his visit. This problem was remidied by exponentially increasing the volume of my own personal home theater system in relation to the volume of his. It was a very sporatic problem, and usually went away quickly.

Pets of all sizes seemed to be welcome, and I'm quite sure I saw a horse being led out from one of the apartments one evening. I'm pretty sure it was a dog, but whatever it was could have easily eaten a few small children, and quite possibly has. For the most part, the pet owners cleaned up after their pets. But as a general rule, always watch where you step when walking in the grass. Residents are often out walking their pets, and are for the most part, quite friendly. That goes for the pets as well. I don't own pets, and have no further review of their pet policies.

Overall, I have been quite satisfied with this community. If it were not for the commute, I would continue to live here. Of course, I may decide to not move out, and sign up for a third year... this remains to be determined...

Thank you for such an in depth review. I am considering moving here, and that made me laugh considerably. It's good to see that people are still taking action against intrusive neighbors. I have a hefty gentleman walking above me currently too.
