This is my first apartment so of course when I first moved into the apartment I had hoped to maybe do some entertaining of any kind here. Unfortunatly after about a month here I was given a warning about losing my lease bc of noise problems. This mainly stems from the fact that their are thin walls and with no real patios, so if you go outside to smoke you are always right below someones window & they will complain you are 'loitering' outside. Now keep in mind I wasnt having crazy parties, I would have just few friends over but if its past 10pm all of sudden I become the noisy teen to my neighbors. I guess thats understandable if you are retirement age, but it stinks for me bc I would like to be able to have my friends over occasionally without constantly shushing them or telling them 'no you cant go out & smoke!' This may be changing thou bc I notice more & more CCCC students living here.
Otherwise the apartments are okay, I have had my share of maintanence problems bc of the age of the apartments, sometimes handled well, others not. Everytime I had a problem at night no one ever answered my pages, fortuatly for me I could usually handle my situations okay on my own. The maintance staff is quite friendly & approchable, and if I ever took a problem straight to them it was handled immeadiatly, but if I went to the office I wouldnt even see them right it down & Id have to call several times to get things done.
Parking really depends on the area your apartments in, stay along the back walls and you will have PLENTY of spaces, towards the center of the complex it gets less & less, often I see people parked in fire lanes there & no one seems to care. There is NO assigned parking bc I think they didnt supply enough noncovered parking for guests, and had too many covered anyway, which worked out okay for me, anyone who came over was amazed they got a covered space easily.
Crime seems non exsistant too, despite being in "east plano" I have never had a problem, I have seen police here a few times, but I dont think for anything too bad. I think its bc the apartments are very hidden from the outside, no one realizes there here except the tenants.
Noise is basically dependent on your side neighboors, bc its all town homes or cottages, theres never anyone above you. so its not too bad. Otherwise you can occasionally hear the train at night, but not soo loud it wakes you, also theres a near by fire department which occasionally you hear, nothing dramatic thou.
Cars seem to be the only noise maker, and apprently the neighboors hate it too. Once I was riding through the parking lot with a friend whose cars muffler just broke, so honestly its a bit loud, and a man walking his dog threw a can or bottle or something at his car, then proceeded to report my friend as having too loud a car. No one cared that the man threw something at his windshield, but I was told he could never again bring his car back to the apartments unless he fixed his muffler, which fortunatly he did. Although after this for MONTHS I had a problem where my neighboor would sit & rev his motorcycles engine for about 10 mins EVERY time hed go out, at all hours of the day and night, this of course was RIGHT by my bedroom window, and no one ever did anything about it as far as I know.
Price is okay, kinda steep for the age on the apartments, but it the apartments are VERY well kept & have a great location to 75, so I could see how they can get away with high prices. And I was shocked to find when I renewed my lease the rent has BARELY gone up, they actually give you the current rent special when you renew, I thought that was really cool of them.
Beware of high electric bills in the townhomes, and the bedrooms REALLY REALLY need ceiling fans bc it gets VERY HOT!
Other than the constant worry of whether my TV is loud for my neighboor, I would gladly renew my lease again, but as I am turning 21, I think I am gonna move & maybe get to have some fun!
