After 3 years at Avendale, I gave notice when advised of my SIXTH rent increase. Although the carpet was not new when I moved in, they are charging me for the replacement. I asked for the paperwork showing when the carpet was originally installed, but it has not been provided. They have reported the situation as a bad debt(on my credit report)rather than a dispute, so now I have to hassell with an attorney,etc. Although I paid my water bill when I turned in my keys, I was charged an additional amount nearly twice what the usual amount was, which I paid - however, they have not deducted this amount from my "debt". And yes, there is rat infestation and mosquitos from standing water, and the car wash rarely works. There are open holes on the property and metal sticking up along curbs, both which are hazardous to your safety. The sidewalks are not sanded when icy, which is why I (and a neighbor)had a hard fall (another matter for the attorney). I am going to drop by and give the tenant my old keys. If the locks were not changed, that will be his issue to settle with them. Think before you lease here and BE PREPARED when you leave.
