Terrible management

We have been here for a year and have had problems ever since we moved in.
1) We were blamed and charged for trash that WASN'T ours (this was the FIRST issue.) Then, even after the matter was corrected there was never an apology from the management, or any sort of "how can we help you further'" attitude.
Secondly, one month, my fiance absentmindedly made out the rent check without putting our current apartment number on it. Granted, we could make things easier by doing that, however, instead of doing the research themselves, they only glanced at the apartment number of his check (which had his previous address on it) and charged his check amount to the resident of the number in THIS complex. We were then charged a late fee for not having all of our rent turned in on time, when it clearly was. The hassle they put US through was unbelievable. It is THEIR job to handle messes like that, they run the property...instead we had to take time out of our lives to do the research FOR them.
There are a number of things that they didn't do for several months while we lived there. For instance: 1)the gate was always open 2) the pool was being worked on DURING the summer months making it unusable 3) maintenance has NEVER come on the day we make our request, it's usually a few days after 4) when I go into the office I am rarely greeted right away, even though there is usually 3-4 people up front at any given time
And one of my favorite stories is of one of the management and what I saw her do while on the phone with an irritated resident...: I was waiting to be helped (go figure) in the front office, and she was on the phone in the same area. The resident was obviously angry about something, and the manager was not being friendly or helpful or even listening, because at one point, she dropped the phone to her side and rolled her eyes, then lifted the receiver again. This happened in front of potential and current residents.
There is another manager who, when speaking with her in person, she is often chewing gum, and is doing so loudly. The gum would not be a problem if I didn't feel like she was being disrespectful about talking to me.
Lastly, my fiance and I are getting ready to move out (happy day!), and when I called to make sure out move-out date was still set, she informed me that that was impossible without a fee since we never gave notice.
I asked if they had sent us a confirmation letter asking if we'd be staying or going (since ALL complexes we've lived in have done so). She said she had-that it had been put ON OUR DOOR in December...our move-out date was supposed to be March 8. We received the note 90 days in advance, ON OUR DOOR...not in the mail...not a phone call. Just ONE note ON OUR DOOR.
(I am not so self-absorbed that I can't take some blame, however, I have NEVER lived in an apartment complex who hasn't done a follow-up letter if they never received any correspondence concerning our lease ending.)
So, we are stuck there for two more long months.
It's not worth the money you lose on an apartment. Live somewhere cheaper if you want bad management.

Annonymous users don't count for crap. Something happened and you didn't get your way so now management is rude and unfriendly.

In all fairness to "management", didn't you know you had to give 60 days notice? But their practice of putting important notices on the front door drove me NUTS! Especially since we rarely USED the front door. We came and went through the garage.

If I am going to spend hundreds of dollars a month to live somewhere, I EXPECT to "get my way".

"Annonymous users don't count for crap. Something happened and you didn't get your way so now management is rude and unfriendly." You must work for the management, because this is exactly how most of us believe they feel, like we don't matter because they don't know who we are. People post anonymously because they're afraid of retaliation, how sad is it they have to feel that way? Nobody here I've talked to feels like they can talk to the management. I've talked to them a couple times, and they are always argumentative, no effort to resolve the problem.
