I've lived here for a year, and I just renewed for another year. I have really enjoyed my stay here and have had minimal problems.
I live near the back gate, and I know why the gates are always stuck open: idiots with their Uhauls constantly run into the gate! I've seen it happen at least 5 times. There's really nothing that you can do about that...
I've had some problems with my plumbing, but they've always been there within a day or two to fix the problem.
When I first moved in, I had a problem with one of the people who worked in the office. She said that she had figured out the rent wrong, and I would have to pay an extra $40 a month. I firmly said no and that I would pay what it said on the contract. I have not had any problems since then. I'm the customer, I get what I want. *shrugs*
I also live on the second floor with no one above me. I share one wall with another apartment, and I rarely, if ever, hear anything from that apartment. My apartment is pretty much over garages. I can only hear the cars/garage doors in my living room, but I don't sleep in there, so it doesn't matter. Believe me, it could be much worse; I lived in a dorm for 4 years.
If you move in here, I'd suggest being very firm in picking out your apartment. I asked to see the exact apartment I would be renting. It had a south facing balcony for my Directv, and it was right next to a parking lot. I can see my car from my window.
I think the problems that everyone else has been having is that they did not ask to see the exact apartment they would be living in. They also seem to deal with the front office too much. The only reason why I am there is to pick up packages. I drop my rent through the nightdrop even if it's during the day. There is no reason for me to talk to them or any of my neighbors. If you want to live in an apartment where everyone is everyone's best friend, try Addison Circle, The Village, or Austin Ranch. That's all they seem to care about...
So if you're a person that has a life, your own set of friend, and know what you want, I'd suggest moving in here.
