Not bad, not great

I?ve lived here going on 2.5 years, still here but looking. I?ve had a few problems with the apartment. When I first moved in it took them 3 months to properly fix the blinds (they wouldn't tilt). I also had a lock broken on move-in that was fixed the next morning. I had my air conditioner stop cooling about a year after move-in and that was fixed the very next morning (I called at 8:00 that evening, so that was great). I did have a leaky roof that took two trips to fix, but in all fairness it was fixed in a couple of weeks and they did try to get this fixed quickly (the leak was over the bathtub, so it wasn't a huge nightmare). I again had my air conditioner go out and reported it Dec 19. Well I called in a few weeks later after it hadn't been fixed and was told they'd look into, I never heard back. I called again on Jan 10, and 18. I was assured that I would have a working air conditioner when I called on the 18th that Monday. They did finally fix it that Monday. Best I can tell the maintenance people themselves are great. I think management has a tendancy to lose or misplace your work orders. I've talked to others in the community, some say they fix things real quick, others have had experiences similar to mine.

As far as the grounds go they are generally kept up pretty well but you need to be careful walking around in the grass, that?s dog territory. The gates are almost always broken so it?s basically not a gated community. However the people here are very nice and the apartment complex rates well in virtually every other regard. Crime appears to be low, the noise level is great, and there is adaquate parking.

If not for the maintence problems (which I believe to be a management problem) I wouldn't think about moving. But I'm looking for a first floor with garage which isn't available here and I've not been happy with my maintenance problems. I plan on moving when my lease is up.
