OK for the money, but I would not recommend

We have lived at the Brentdale almost 3 years. Thankfully, we are moving out. While the place used to be ok for the money, rent prices are going up everywhere, and it now seems absolutely rediculous to pay this much for what you get.
Sadly, we left a really nice apartment complex to move to the Brentdale in order to save more money for our house. While rent was $200 a month cheaper, the increased cost in water and electric bills ate up almost all of the savings.
Our electric bill, due to the poor air conditioning system, increased over $200 during the summer. We were on the 3rd floor, which makes it worse, but we had been on the top floor in the other apt.s too. We had maintenance over several times, but they would have to put in a whole new system to fix the problem.
They pass more of the water bill along to the tenants than our last apt. too. So, our water bill went from being around $25 to as much as $70. It is a shared billing system, so the apt. bill is divided among the tenants. You don't just pay for your own water usage, the entire building bill is divided up by apartment and by how many live in the apartment, including babies.
The management are a lot of times were condescending and unwilling to work with us in a reasonable manner. They did nothing in response to our disgustingly high electric bill (oh, and our apartment could not get below 76 degrees in the summer). They refused to work with us when we moved out and charged us huge fees to go month to month for 2 months, because we had to wait to move into our house. We had been good tenants and paid rent on time, but they charge "market rent" which is a joke, plus $100 a month fee. What a nice thank you to people who have lived at the apartments for three years with no late rent or other problems.
Also, the water is constantly being turned off (especially the hot water) without notice. So, often times we would get in to take a shower or start some laundry only to find out that there was no hot water. When it turns back on, every faucet runs a dark dirty water for the first few seconds. Maybe these problems contributed to the high water bill, I don't know.
The only thing good I can say, is that the maintenance department is great. They are considerate and do all they can to quickly help tenants with maintenance problems. Sometimes, things are just out of their hands.

I am a previous resident and I agree on the poor air conditioning and high water bills on the third floor. Electric bill was always 150.00 in the summer and ac would never get below 80.
