It is so sad to write about the way the staff handles and the poor knowledge they have including the manger that IT WAS SHOCKING to experience that, i acccompanied my friend who moved from out of state, and to see the model room, you have to give them the photo ID before they can show you, my friend dint even had DL, he came from overseas and had only Employment card, which they happily accepted and i gave them my US ARMY issued Federal photo ID, which repetedly the rceptionist and the manager denied to accept and said as per their policy it si not acceptable. Then i asked them to show me the policy , the answer was, oh, we have no written policy, thats what we been told, it was such a sorry situation and i also felt pity on the staff, that how can they deny Government Issued ID, that too, Federal ID with proper photo. I only wish that these kind of illiterate staff should at lesat be educated on their job, rather than just be a parrot and have no clue as to how to interact with customer and what all documentation is acceptable. And they were very rude, not ready to listen, dont like to say that but i must mention it. Hope it will send a message to the corporate office, so they can show their staff the proper policy.

Unlike apartment staff, the reviewer is not supposed to be professional...just honest. While I can understand the policy of a staff to decline any ID based on emotional reasons, I would recommend keeping any utilized policies on-hand in writing, so as to be more prepared.
It seems to me that this reviewer has been discriminated against.

I have been in the business for over eight years. The policy on what forms of ID to accept is based on individual company policies. Also, if we do not feel that the form of ID presented is valid or authentic, we can decline to accept it for our safety. AND If you are going to point out the shortcomings of "professionals" maybe you should check your spelling first!

The above comment is obviously a response from a Brentdale staff member. I too had the extreme DISPLEASURE of residing at the Brentdale for 12 months. In fact, Sanjay is absolutely correct in his assessment of the office staff. When I lived at the Brentdale, dealing with the office staff was the bane of my existence. A number of times I had no other choice but to threaten legal action JUST to get a maintenance man into my apartment for either mold, AC, insects, etc. I was an ideal tenant too, so this made no sense to me. It almost seemed as if the staff was rude and standoff-ish on purpose just to avoid doing their jobs...forget about being "proactive" because that word is NOT in their vocabulary. Not to mention the fact that every week there was a new "temp" in the Brentdal office which explains the lack of "on the job" knowledge and training. The sheer number of temps the Brentdale went through while I lived there was more than likely due to the lack of professionalism in the leasing office...can't think of any other reason for such a high turnover of employees. Whoever managed the hiring/staffing of the Brentdale desperatley needs to take an additional class in Human Resources because you've made some pretty sad choices.
I haven't lived at the Brentdale for two years now (thank God), but obviously my time there was so deplorable that I still find myself talking about it and commenting on the terrible conditions. If you (the Brentdale Management and Staff) don't like the comments you receive on this site, then go straight to the root of the problem and fix your attitudes and policies. Your current and future residents (if you're lucky) deserve much more than you're giving them. They are the reason you have a job after all. Don't forget it!
