Shocked and amazed as good as it was, if not better

I previously reviewed based on having lived here from 1999-2004. However, I just moved back. Frankly, I saw no way that service could be as good as before, particularly based on the general decline of service in retail and rentals. However, I have been shocked and amazed and am extremely happy with my decision to return after considering so many more modern communities.
As the ownership and all staff, both management and maintenance has changed I was concerned about the "New" Chisholm Place. However, the office staff is actually much more pleasant than before and they treat everyone as if they were a friend. You never feel like its a business transaction. I thought the previous maintenance staff was as near perfect as possible, but today's maintenance team truely believes it is their job to do everything they can to insure the happiness of the tenant. My apartment was ready for move-in as promised. I filled out the checklist the day before move-in and every item I asked to be corrected was done on the same day the request was prepared.
However, I hadn't seen anything yet compared to what was to come. Lowe's delivered a Washer and Dryer and ended up flooding my apartment and two others. I was horrified as water was spraying. However, the maintenance department took it in stride, told me it was fine and to be calm, and told Lowes they would finish the install after they cleaned up the mess, which took them a good part of the day. However, there is more. Lowe's dropped the cap they took off the cold water down the washer drain. While it took several trips to figure out the problem, maintenance did and corrected that. In a world where everyone wants to "pass the buck", the maintenance staff took it all on and went far beyond the call of duty to insure my happiness. They never made me feel like I was imposing and they communicated, even calling me when they finally solved the problem.
The apartment renovations are quite nice. That's not to say the apartments still don't show some reflections of their vintage, such as a non-garden bath. However, the appliances are new, all fixtures are new, the carpet was new when I moved in as was the faux tile in the kitchen and hall, and I feel as good here as if it was a brand new complex.
My one bedroom is 980 square feet and I have a beautiful view of trees out back, the trail along the creek and the creek area. The rooms are all nice size and very functional. The only design aspect I would criticize is the size of the laundry room in this floorplan. However, it is workable.
Parking is about what I expected from the past. At most times I can park right at my door (well, except I'm on the second floor so down one level). Late at night I might have to walk an extra 50 feet, which I just don't consider a problem.
Being on the second floor, I have heard absolutely no noise. I don't know how it is on the first floor now, but suspect as before its still better than most new apartments.
The grounds are maintained quite well. Even more, many of the residents take tremendous pride in the entrances to their units and their patios. I am waiting on my planters so I can catch up as neighbors have planters out front and on their balconies and the tenant below me has planted a beautiful area right in front of her unit. As I walk along the trail behind I see the consistently well kept patios and balconies.
I still feel quite safe here although it is not gated and no garages. I feel like the complex has maintained a good mix of tenants of all ages and demographics, but of overall good character. As to no gates, I haven't seen a gated community yet you couldn't enter whenever you wanted.
Construction is still solid and the outsides well renovated. Its certainly not got the flash inside of the 700 square foot new apartments renting for as much in the "hip" communities. However, my apartment already very much feels like home to me.
Because of convenience, my driving is way down. There is nothing I need nor anywhere I need to go that isn't close. Furthermore, just in case the need ever arose due to car problems or otherwise, there are bus stops right at the complex leading to main bus depots in both directions and only 4 minutes from the Parker Train station. If I was commuting to downtown Dallas or even just going to the zoo or for entertainment and planned on taking the train, I would bus there rather than deal with the parking issues at the station.
There are major hospitals at 3.0, 3.6, 4.5, 6.6 and 7.0 miles. There are major grocery stores at 0.8, 1.1, 1.3, 1.3, 1.3, 1.8, 2.1, 2.3, , 2.3, 2.4, 2.8, 3.4, 3.4, 3.5, 3.6, 3.7, 3.7, 3.7, and 3.8 miles. That is 19 in less than 4 miles. You get the idea. Target is less than one mile and Walmart 2.3. A 24 hour Walgreens is 1.1 miles and a 24 hour CVS is 1.9. Collin Creek Mall is 1.1 miles. The Plano Senior Center is less than one mile and other recreation centers not much further. At the nearest intersection are two gas stations and convenience stores. A Dry Cleaner is across the street. There are 40 fast food restaurants within 2 miles and 130 non-fast food restaurants within 2 miles.
Please don't read this because if everyone starts seeing what is offered here then my rent will go up when I renew. Oh my......I should have kept quiet.
