Considered Moving...

I considered moving only because I wanted a house / townhouse with a yard and a fireplace; however, after looking around at the affordable places I found that CM is really really nice and I am going to stay here.
Granted the walls are thin, but other than that I have no complaints. The office team cares about the residents and Maintenance is fast and they get the job done.
When friends come to visit they don't want to leave. They go on and on about how nice it is here that it is like a resort with the heated pool and towel service, not to mention the great gas grill by the pool etc.

The problem is the refugees from New Orleans. I was told when I moved in that "they qualified for the apartments on their own." I call BS on that - these people are FEMA subsidized and it shows. Drugs and alcohol are regularly seen in this complex, now. I'm paying 1k a month just to live in a ghetto. Plus, the walls are paper thin - worst apartment I've ever lived in.

um, i just wanted respond to the person who wrote about the new orleans issue.i hope and pray that nothing as devastating as that hurricane happens to you because god be with you if you have to deal with people like YOU!! you obviously have no idea what it must be like to loose everything you have ever known or had in a couple of days and have to start over. They did not ask to be here. They are all citizens just like you and you cant judge a book by the cover. Some of them might might have made more money than you in their city.If you see drugs and stuff why dont you call the cops or the office immediately?

To those who think the people here are going to have to be thrown out legal you will be surprise how proud we will leave and you better beleive we won't be leaving with our heads down you are no one else will ever have that power, maybe you need to see some of their houses and see how much trash they are, they would put you to shame. These people went through a lot and in a sort period of time thanks to the help of this apartment and the time their allowed us to get on our feet and find out how low class we are it take a strong perso to be able to come back as fast as some of us have, they probably have better furniture than you do, stop assuming, because you know what that does it make as A-- out of you and me. But i am still going to pray for you to have God to soften that hard heart these people that own this complex did a great think in helping those from new orleans and guest what we were upper middle class also and still lost everything but one thing and that is trust in the Lord that he will pull us through, put take it from me just because your middle class don't think you can't fall, our trust is not in material good but in the favor of God, stop trying to undo what the Lord use the management of courtney Manor to bless those in need, because if you keep doing this you will find yourself at the other end of those insults. And don't be surprised if you find one of us new orleans give you a helping hand their is only one person that is important and it is NOT you and it is NOT me, it is our Heavenly Father and who he will use to help other, thank God He use Courtney Manor.from another middle class friend and now am considered lower in your eyes, But thank God He doesn't look at me that way. have a bless one. |

We have no compassion for them. We pay for peace and quiet and we expect it. We didn't pay for drugs, noise, trash and really bad grammar. We don't pray for them. We're not even Christian. Flamingfire, Do you expect us to believe that you are upper middle class? You have the grammar skills of a 3rd grader. Were you upper middle class by selling drugs? Stay here and make it a rathole just like New Orleans. I've seen the trash piles outside of the New Orleans buildings in the back. I don't care - we're out when the lease is up. |

The corner building in the back is the one where most of the refugees are. Drive by, guys.. take a look at the trash everywhere!! All over the steps, the side walk, grass, in the bushes.. There are beer cans, empty milk gallons, food containers, plastic bags, and I even saw an old dirty shoe!! It looks like the 9th ward. Wow.. big surprise.

First off, this is a nice part of Plano, not section 8 housing areas. If we wanted to have neighbors that get gov't aid or whatnot, we would have moved to an area like Oak Cliff. Obviously the PAYING tenants didn't because we all were expecting CM to be quiet with a certain level of class for the amenities that it of course provides. Now, some tenants like myself can only reasonably expect what they PAY for(being $800 and up). People therefore are going to be frustrating when the value isn't there anymore because certain tenants disrepect the property and each other.

Dear Btrflyker, Your comment regarding Government Aide or whatnot; I only hope that nothing as severe as the Katrina disaster ever affects you and that you never find yourself in a position where you have lost EVERYTHING except the clothes on your back. |
