Looks are Deceiving

We moved into this apartment complex hoping to have our family in a better place. The neighborhood is nice and when moving in the staff seemed so professional and helpful.
However...
The now don't bother to pick up the trash even though we pay extra for it.
I called them to tell them someone was smoking pot basically right outside my door and had to explain to my child what it was. Their response' "If you cannot find out exactly who it is then I cannot do anything about it." Like I am going to walk up to them and ask.
Cops are out here a lot now.
Dog ---- is EVERYWHERE.
Staff is RUDE. They say people will be out to fix things and they never show up... time and time and time again.
We cannot get enough hot water. And takes many many phone calls to get them to come look at it... and often they never do anyway.
We have ants (and not from us... we are clean and tidy) and they have not bothered to show up to do anything about it.
Walls are PAPER THIN. I mean, truly paper thin. We can hear every single sound our downstairs neighbors make, even down to the rolling of dice over a board game or intimate quiet details of personal conversations.
Insulation is awful. When it is cold out, it is cold in. No matter how high you turn on the heat. Only exception is the master bedroom. It is 40 degrees in the living room, but 90 degrees in the master bedroom.
We pay an extra $400 a month here than we used to and it was to better our quality of life. Instead, it is worse than income subsidized housing.
The drugs, open alcohol, New Orleans people raising hell into the wee hours, people screaming and yelling, kids outside until midnight, and general bad atmosphere of this place has me regretting that we ever moved here. Especially since the management does not care at all.
We'll definitely be moving once this lease is up.
The worst part is the noise, though. I feel like my neighbors and I are in different rooms in the same apartment- not different apartments.
DO NOT MOVE HERE!!! Unless you want to be utterly miserable. We saw some of these reviews on this site before we moved in. I really wish we had heeded them and looked elsewhere.

i believe this is not true, I have a dog so when i get home from work around 11:00 i walk my dog for a good 20 min, and i never see kids walking around! i may have just missed them but you would think i would see them once in a while the way you say that they are. and yes i do have a dog and i pick up my dogs waste EVERY TIME, i admitt there are some that don't and they should do something about that, but they probably have to catch them, i wish they would/could do something about that!

and as for as the people raising hell yelling you take and go through the hell that these people went through at least you do have a place to stay they did't and some still don't have a place to stay stop complaining and if you had a little more love in your heart you would be praying for them instead of kicking their emotional times their going through people handle stress in many ways, eating fussing or what ever leave them along it not like they are killing or robing anyone here.I hope that you and your family never experience that type of stress they went through, go throught what new orleans people went through and is still mentally going through and you would be yelling too, these people want to go home and can't try it sometimes and see how it feel to have root somewhere and can get back to it, their roots is their home, get over it, if anyone should be complaining it should the people from New Orleans.

you were saying about spellcheck sleepygirl read over your review you might want to practice what you preach. I think you should go to the office tell who you are and i am sure they will let such a predjudice, unhappy and cold person out of there lease. You should try it just let them know your alias is sleepygirl it will be better for both parties.

To sleepygirl28; Thank you very much for taking the time to write your observations. I'm a single mother and new to the area with limited apartment living experience. Your comments were very helpful. Sincere regards |

Sleepygirl28; You spelled mostly all of your words right and you still look like a complete idiot!! So you can sit down with all of that mess! And maybe you should go to the office and reveal yourself because I'm tired of seeing your stupidity! Your sickening! I'm glad I don't know you in person!! |

You are correct. I did make some punctuation and spelling errors, didn't I? Oh well. That was a result of typing too quickly and not proofreading. I used paragraph breaks and proper English. Typos are one thing. Flat out bad English is quite another. But in response to what you said: You think I should go to the office, tell them my user name and they'll let me out of my lease? What rock did you crawl out from under? By the looks of the reviews to date, I am thinking that if it worked that way we'd all be running in there tomorrow to do just that. To Donni7: I was a single mom for nearly a decade and while this is a "nicer" type place, I've never even in hard times lived in a place this low class. Good luck with your search!! |
