I have lived in a first floor apartment for the last 11 months and I'm counting down until my lease is up! I hear EVERYTHING in my apartment!! I hear when my adjoining neighbors talk and/or vacuum in an adjoining room. I hear EVERY step my upstairs neighbors make. I hear them vacuum, talk and their child cry. The small grassy area outside of my apartment is apparently the perfect place for all dog owners to allow themselves relief. The accumulation of poop is never picked up and causes a terrible odor - especially on hot days!

I live here and have never heard my neighbors. I am also on the first floor and occasionally only hear a door shut. Sometimes I think some people are just looking, or in this case, listening for something to complain about.
