Revised in 2007 after moving out.
The place sucks in every way. They're now raising rent considerably. In a year, my car was vandalized twice (broken into once, tires slashed once), my apartment was broken into, and the apartment under mine caught on fire shortly before I moved out, ruining most of my furniture from the smoke. There's graffiti everywhere - someone even tagged my front door once. The day I moved in, the kitchen light caught on fire because the wires to the sockets were dry rotted. I was promised a new florescent light fixture, instead they just replaced the sockets in the ancient incandescent fixture.
The laundry room is always closed for repairs. When it's open, good luck actually getting a working washer, I never saw more than 4 (out of 10) in usable condition.
It's nice that they pay for water - including hot water. However, the hot water went out 3 times while I lived there because of broken pipes (central boiler), and was once out for about 3 days. In the winter, I left my shower running on only hot water for over a half hour trying to get warm water, it never got remotely warm. It got to where I was having to shower at friends houses.
The place is loud, loud, LOUD. I could hear my neighbor's phone ringing, and could hear my downstairs neighbor talking even when he was using an "inside" voice. Everyone in the complex loves to blast Mexicano music at all hours, and there's always people getting drunk in the parking lot. The police are on the property at least twice a week.
They advertise their 1 bedroom at 499 now. For 515 I have a 1 bedroom across town in a far nicer place, with my own washer and dryer.
The appliances are ancient, and the insulation is non existant - last July my electric bill was $660 (@ 12.5c/kWh), just trying to keep my 2 bedroom apartment below 80 (which the ancient a/c wasn't able to do).
They also do random apartment inspections, and will actually charge you to replace a burned out light bulb - while you're living there. That's what a deposit is supposed to be for, and who cares if a tenant allows a light bulb to burn out' They'll also charge you if your blinds are dirty or if your unit is cluttered.
If you get home anytime after midnight, good luck finding parking. Several times I wound up parking in the shopping center on the next street, when I got off of work late. The parking lot lighting is non-existent.
The only good things I can mention about the place: the office staff is usually (but not always) friendly, and maintenance is also friendly as well (if not incompetent in the best of times).
I felt safer living in a very run down section of East Dallas.
