Having lived at Creekside for about a year, here is what I can tell you:
-- The walls are very thin -- you can hear garages opening, doors closing, people talking, vacuum cleaners and smell the Indian cooking of the neighbors next door.
-- You will step in doggie poop -- it is everywhere.
-- There are mice, but not rats -- they like to run around your deck, apartment and other areas -- they are small, but very fast critters
-- They have garbage pick-up, but don't miss the 2 hour window or they will fine you.
-- The summer party was during the hottest afternoon of the year and they catered it with crappy hot dogs and cheap beer
-- If you face west, your a/c bill for June/July and August will average $200 per month for a 1 bdrm and $300 per month for a 2 bdrm
-- They will start a lease on the 1st of the month, but oddly it will never end on the first of the month -- this is a sneaky way of getting extra rent income - if you are moving, do you think your new residence will start a lease on the 1st Saturday following the 1st of the month' Doubt it.
-- Keep your doors locked or someone will break in -- when you travel, you will notice attempts at break-ins
-- Be prepared to lose your entire deposit over nothing even if your place is spotless
Other than that, you should enjoy Creekside.
And by the way, don't get a fireplace -- trust me.

What in the world...smh?! That is insanity. Outside of everything else mentioned, just about every place i've looked at has thin walls...what's up with that?! I would appreciate it if my neighbors didn't know every time i passed gas or opened a jar. sheesh.

I do agree with the trash pickup. I work 2nd shift and rarely feel like getting up in that 6-8 am window to set my trash out. There is no dumpster, or I would just take it out myself. The leasign agent said they will go through your garbage to see who it belongs to. $25 if you set it out other that time window indicated. Walls are so thin. It is so annoying. I hear my neighbors every move. Not their fault, they are just...well living. Electric bill averages $250 a month for a small 1 BR. I am about 800 sqf. Ridiculous. No mice...thank God. I see an odd bug every now and then, but I agree with other poster. Roaches comes from filth. No real community get togethers or socials like other complexes in the Plano area that I am used to. These people are about the money. Rent is due on the 3rd, don't try and put it in the night box after that date. They tape it shut. First day late is $50, $10 each day after that. When I moved in, you have to shwo them proof of $50,000 renters insurance (or it may have be 25k) and transfer electric in your name. I did, my electric company made a mistake and was a few days late trasnferring service to me. So I got a $9.00 light bill on my door one day. No big deal, but they wanted to charge late fees. I somehow talked them out of that. Silly. But they did want to stress to me how I was suppose to transfer service. I kindly pointed out that I had to BEFORE I was even able to sign the lease. They let that one go. The first agent you see when you walk in (blonde hair) first desk....BEWARE. She is horrible. Chris is awesome and Sara seems pretty cool. They want a $500 deposit for a cat, but there is so much dog poop outside. I mean piles that look like we have horses in the neighborhood. Most recent complaint, I get off work at 7:30 pm. I called rental office to tell them I would be locked out when I got home. I asked if they could open my garage door and they told me they couldn't (it would make them liable). Totally understand, however they told me to call the after hours number and a maint. man could do a lock out and there could be a fee, but agent wasn't sure. I called number when I got home and maint. did promptly call me back. They told me it is against compnay policy to do lock outs. I told him who I spoke with and he basically said I was locked out until 9am next morning when office re-opened. COME ON GUYS...I WOULD HAVE PAID THE FEE....had to breka in my window that night. I wouldn't recommend this place. It's not the worse I have lived in, but $860 for this place is insane. All...we also live in a gated community but I was told by agent there is a code to give guests during the day and the office witll buzz them through, but after hours...there is no code???? WTF?? Cable is exclusively through Grande Communications. No HDTV, No TIVO...no real options. Just basic cable. |
