The price is low for a three bedroom apartment, but dont be fooled, at cross creek apartments you not only get what you pay for, but much, much less. Our A/C went out in the summer of 2002, and they couldn't fix it Friday, or Saturday, and refused to pay for an emergency maintence on Sunday. It was so hot I'm amazed that my 2 young nephews managed to get by without getting heat exhaustion. Unfortunately we still live there, and we just had another horrible experience trying to get our A/C fixed once again. When we're not sweating bullets from broken A/C units, we are watching where we step and avoiding ants that bite our feet and cause bloody swollen nightmares to our feet ankles down. Our microwave is so old it has a time knob on it that you twist and when the food is done it dings like those little metal bells you ring to get someone to help at a desk when they are not present. If that doesn't sound too bad wait until the dishwasher from 1970 attempts to clean the dishes which end up coming out dirtier then before they went in. When we told them about the problem with dishwasher they said they didn't have enough money in the budget to replace our dishwasher. Then comes the *gulp* black mold problem. Suddenly, both of my nephews, and my mother got sick. The doctor ordered my mother to be on a breathing machine and for my nephews to be on nebulizers. He also said to check out the apartment for anything unusual because they were so sick. My mother noticed black growth on and in the vents. She called and the office and said she suspected black mold was in our apartment. They sent a guy to check out and a couple of days later they had a company come and clean out our vents. They claimed it wasn't mold just dirt/dust that had accumulated over years. Whatever it was it was nasty enough to make my whole family ill. The pool area looks nice, but don' let the imposter spa fool you, it just bubbles and appears to be a hot tub, but actually is just a square pool with luke warm water. During a storm a tree fell right by my balcony, and was left there for two weeks. Finally, it was cut into smaller pieces and thrown woods right infront of the creek they name the apartments after. The pieces of log are very noticeable and distract my view from the pureness of nature and the creek, to the lazy sweep it under the rug mentality of the maintence and management of this complex. Besides poor construction and cheap aging materials, the underlining reason this apartment complex is as bad as it is the management. The manager of the complex is named Pamala, but I would like to call her other things. Watch out for this Pamala and the ghetto palace she reigns over.
