Great and unique uptown living in the suburbs!

I've lived in Phase I of EastSide since May 2004 and have really enjoyed my experience. Sure, there are some loud neighbors every now and then and the car alarms echoing through the garages are tiring, but you can't find living like this anywhere else in Plano. I've met some great people in my building and in downtown Plano--whether it be at the INDEPENDENT coffee shop or just helping a neighbor move in. I love being able to walk around to church, get a haircut, do a bit of shopping, get some BBQ, visit the farmer's market, etc. without even getting my car out of the garage. The convenience of being located so close to 75 and the tollway is a huge plus as well.
If you're looking for a silent apartment with no interaction with neighbors, EastSide probably isn't for you. If you'd like a bit of downtown living in the suburbs, this is a great place. I really wish some of these places were for sale--I'd like to stay for awhile. Having a great community and no maintenance is wonderful!
When I looked around, the other apartments in the area like this (the Block in Garland and Addison Post Circle) were far more expensive and didn't quite have the atmosphere and neighborhood that EastSide has. Addison Post is very artificial and The Block hasn't got the shops and businesses that downtown Plano has. Also, both of those were more expensive than EastSide. EastSide is competitive with downtown living prices--not with your typical suburban apartment complex (bleh, I couldn't stand a boring gated community even though it might be cheaper).
