Let me preface this review by saying that with all apartments, you are always going to have the good, bad and ugly. Neighbors can be inconsiderate, management might be less than cooperative and noise can at time seem intolerable. Those are the breaks of multi-family living. Eastside Village might be a case in point. On the flip side, this is a convenient location. DART is around the corner and 190/75 are within a stone's throw distance, but you probably already know this. Now, as far as the comments about management, I don't really have anything negative to say. They do seem stand-offish at times. However, all of my maintenance requests have been addressed promptly. My concern is when they just let anyone walk in to pick up a package without first checking. Since then, management has refused to take responsibility for anything and won't sign for FedEx, UPS or USPS. If signiture is required your SOL.
My biggest issues (after living here for a couple of years):
occassional vandalism noise in the garage and courtyards (but what are you going to do about that') Value (I think the rents are a little high for what you get, but there's a trade-off for convenience) Common areas such as the gym and hallways could be cleaner (this is picky) Working with the residents could be done in a more productive manner (I mean, look at the complaints!) Walls are paper thin
My assessment: Overall I like Eastside Village. It's a great concept. However, understand that with urban living (even in safe Plano) there are going to be annoiances. Management is about what you expect with these places. Neither good or bad. Just average. Whether or not that's acceptable is up to you.

The vandalism issue seems to be getting worse. I've had a couple of scrapes to my car both of which required repair. ALso the halls seem to be getting nastier and I notice more trash left by doors. I wonder if they've cut back on maintenace people, especially for routine cleaning chores.
