I only wish I could keep affording it.

My wife and I have lived at Eastside Village Phase 2 for 2 years. We hate to move, but the real driver behind our decision to move is that we want a 2 bedroom and ESV's prices are too high. We got into a 1 bedroom on a special, but that's the only way we could live here.

We really love the neighborhood. The park is quaint, and it's close to 75, the grocery store, a mall, the DART rail, the movies, etc. 15th Street is very picturesque (but useless if you don't like antiques). All in all, we really like the style of this neighborhood.

I'd be remiss if I didn't mention some things:

- There was a false fire alarm. Firefighters were on the roof checking, but everything was fine.
- The lady down the hall from me had an actual fire because she left a candle burning. I put out that fire for her, but there was a lot of smoke and scared people. :) There was no real damage, except lots of smoke.
- A woman was seriously injured when a crazy woman stabbed her in our parking garage. It was so bizarre, I couldn't blame the neighborhood. It was the kind of thing that could happen anywhere.
- Our neighbor across the hall had a unit overlooking K Avenue when Kelly's Eastside is. That place has live music every night until very late. They refuse to quiet down after 10, and the police do nothing. Our neighbor had to move. Very sucky situation.

I've never had a big problem in the parking garage. No door dings (knock on wood). There are, occasionally, very loud motorcycles/cars with loud music, but it's mostly quiet where I live. I can keep the balcony door open and not be bothered, and I live right next to the garage.

The laundry facility doesn't get a lot of love. Lately some of the machines have been broken or squeaky. Rent your machines!

Gates are frequently broken, so don't count on them for security.

The office won't sign for packages, so you're kind of hosed there. I have to get my packages delivered to work.

However, I would definitely live here again. The units are well-designed and spacious.

I live at Eastside Village and know myself that they now sign for packages.

Good to know about the packages. The new management is great. I'm actually renewing my lease because they've been so nice and helpful in getting me into a 2-bedroom.
