First of all, I grew up in downtown plano, so the area was nostalgic to me. When I returned to the area, and saw there were apartments, I immediately wanted to live here.
The neighborhood is walkable, all the stores you could ever want for your needs are within a 5 minute drving distance. the restraunts are good food, and yes, there is a LOT of activity here. Live music at Kelly's, swimmers in the summer, human life doing what it does best... living.
The management was friendly to my husband and I, the few maintenence problems we have had were minor, and fixed fairly quickly. Clean over all. The buildings are hard to get into if you are not a resident, so it is fairly secure.
Now onto the not so savory stuff-
The walls. they are not technically paper thin, I cannot hear my neighbors on either side of me, for example. But you can hear activities in the halls. People, pets and elevator. If you have an apaertment whos windows face the courtyard, like mine, the sound from others in the yard are loud and echoey. Parties until 3-4 in the morning, all times of the year. It can be annoying, but the apartment has now a courtesy officer who you can call with your complaints.
The electric bills- if you are an energy-concious individual, you can manage your bills. turn off and unplug everything that you do not use. do that, and your bill will instantly lower itself. plain and simple. This apartment has SEVERAL electric companies for you to choose from, and it is the customer's choice to go with the company.
The parking garage- there are times when it is full, and times when it is not. Usually the upper resident levels are available. There ARE dangerous drivers in the garage, but I challange anyone to find a parking garage where there are NO dangerous drivers at all.
The pet deposits here, are pretty atrocious though. For my two cats, we had to pay nearly $800. Some of this money will be returned to us on our move out date, but not all.
Over all, I give this a yes if you know and accept what you are going into. read all the reviews, good and bad.
the main reason my husband and I are moving out is he cost of rent. for other apartments in the near area, you can get more square footage for less money. We are going to try and save up for a house, and this is not the best place to do so.

Parking garage, I would agree with. The walls, I agree with again. I have NEVER heard a neighbor. I have never had an apartment where I never heard the neighbors. But yes, you can hear sometimes when people are walking down the building hallways. The rent is really expensive compared to other really nice communities a few miles away. My friend pays $140 less a month for 300 more sq ft. But I do take the Dart train to work, so the gas and time kind of outweighed from wanting to live somewhere else for now. I think the only reason I moved here was due to the Dart train. I love it here though. I do not plan to move unless my job changes and I do not need to take the train downtown, the rent dramatically goes up when/if we renew our rent or we get a house.
