Billed me for $1!!!

Overall this apartment complex is poorly maintained. the grounds are so uneven that one begins planning their route to the mailbox to avoid the various lakes of water and mud. parking is ok (if you dont mind walking halfway accross the complex) rarely will you be able to see your car from the front door. I would suggest putting ANY maintenance request in WRITING, perhaps even sending it to the office via CERTIFIED MAIL as you may need proof of receipt since they will undoubtedly blow you off for weeks. when i moved in things were ok. i quickly discovered there had been a shooting in my portion of the complex 2 months before moving in. the air conditioning unit had been dripping water down in the bathroom for the last 2&1/2 months. as far as i know they just ignored me until i moved out... it would fill 1 home depot bucket in less than 1 hour by the end. didnt have much trouble with bugs, but the windows and doors leaked and let quite a bit of air in/out. every footstep above me could be heard. when i moved out i was informed that i had 37 noise complaints which my neighbor actually deserved. THE ENTIRE APARTMENT WAS IN DIRE NEED OF COMPLETE REMODELING. ceilings, walls, and counters were VERY uneven. the dishwasher never would actually clean dishes, it was used more for only killing germs, i had been complaining about it since the 2nd month of living there and it never was fixed. More attention/investment is needed in their maintenance personnel and procedures. At one point while i was living there i counted 23 law enforcement vehicles filling the parkinglot and spilling out onto the street... regardless of their persuasive efforts, i was QUITE concerned. It is NO surprise to me at all that they are MUCH MUCH cheaper now than they used to be.
I left the apartment better than it was when i moved in, i had smoothed out the walls and ceiling and repainted them. there was only 1 blemish on the carpet (aside from being completely flooded by the neglected AC unit) a small burn in front of the fireplace (which had no log rack or screen to speak of). i had installed dimmer switches and repaired the sliding glass door/screen since they would barely open.
Some time after i had already moved, they decided not only to keep my deposit but to actually send me a bill!!! FOR ONLY 1 DOLLAR! you'd think they could just spot me a buck and call it even!
I wont even go into the lack of intelligence the office employees must possess, let alone training to do their job... THEY KNOW HOW TO TAKE YOUR MONEY THOUGH!!!
If you are considering moving here BE VERY CAREFUL when you look the place over, and dont be afraid to visit at night to check it out first! Talk to a couple people walking around or at the pool, ask them what they think!
