Fairway Apartments
< | >
We lived at the Fairway for 1 and 1/2 years. It needed some outside renovation but was nice enough inside although there was obviously foundation damage. They decided about 1 year through our living there to do a renovation. The renovation was very poorly done. The contractors were breaking windows and causing as much damage as they were fixing. People, including myself complained to the office everyday re: the sloppiness of the work being done and messes being made inside of the apartments (literally PILES of dirt). We were told that the contractors would fix it but months later nothing. In the dead of winter we had torn up sheet rock all around the window and unframed doors so cold air blew inside. Our elderly neighbor had a broken window during this time. Another handicapped resident complained while I was there that they had tried to fix the foundation for her apartment and instead had created large cracks throughout the apartment, leaks and a slanted foundation. It was a nightmare! The contractors also left dangerous tools and super long nails within reach of children. The office staff had no control of the contractors whatsoever and they basically did what they wanted to do when they wanted to do when and if they wanted to do it. I moved out of town and that complex in January of 2006. I receive a bill dated due on 1/12 on 1/12 stating that I owed them more than $700 for a damaged carpet. They will *not* clean your carpets no matter how long you stay inspite of average being to clean them as a courtesy for residents once a year. I called them knowing that only one room had stains when we left from floor traffic and spilled drinks. They agreed that only one room was very stained but was politely informed that because of 1 room, they had to replace the carpeting in the ENTIRE 2 bedroom/2 bathroom apartment because "it wouldn't have matched"'! It was average beige carpet, nothing special here folks. I have since asked for the bill from the people who replaced the carpet, the type of carpet (as it was so irreplaceable to warrant a complete recarpeting of the apartment), a statement from cleaners stating that the carpet was beyond cleaning 2 times from both the corporate office and the complex. I have since received nothing. Folks JUST SAY NO!
