I must admit, Im a little nervous about moving out of here now. I have pets too, and I have taken every measure possible to ensure that the carpet is spotless, and my pets are house trained as well, so it shouldnt be a problem. But to everyone who keeps on saying that they have been charged for a lot of damage from previous tenants, did you really fill out the move-in condition form' When I moved in here just under 2 years ago now, I filled in that form with every possible defect I could see and notice so anything that was there before I moved in was in writing.

I have asked for numerous maintenance requests, many of them cosmetic, and many basic repairs. The staff has been wonderful every time I have asked for a repair, many times going above and beyond to ensure I am happy.

Yes, this complex is older, and the appearance of the buildings themselves could be sprused up a bit, but you cant find apartments this large for this price anymore. Not to mention the amount of storage space I have. I live in one of the 3-bedroom, 2.5 bath townhomes, and Ive loved living here. I have never had a rodent problem. I have only once had an ant problem, but they took care of it the very next day and I have never seen ants since. Repairs to the apartment were handled quickly. I love the covered parking. And yes, there are going to be a few cracks here and there, but remember, this is an older complex, anything this old, house, apartment, whatever, is going to have a few cracks here and there. It comes with the character of an old place. I have never had a problem with my neighbors. In fact, I cant even hear them, thanks to older, thicker walls. I have a surround sound system in my living room, and I crank that baby when I watch my DVDs. No one ever complains. My only biggest complaint is that the majority of the tenants do not pick up after their dogs, so there is dog feces all over the place, and for those of us who are diligent about picking up after our dogs, I am sick and tired of having to watch out for a mess when I take mine for a walk.

Only once have I felt a little concern for safety when my neighbors car was stolen from her carport. It was literally sitting right next to mine. But I see cops in their patrol cars all the time around our neighborhoods and I never feel truly unsafe.

I will admit my utility bills are about 3 times higher than any other place I have lived. The water bill especially. This is mainly because what happens is that the water bill is distributed evenly across the entire complex, so if myself and my roommate use only a small amount of water (at my previous apartments it was around $15 a month), we are now charged around $55.00 a month because someone in the unit next door could have a bunch of kids and they use a lot more water. Kind of unfair. I think they should make an investment in some sort of water tracking system, Ive asked them about installing water meters into each apartment, but of course this is very expensive and they said no. My electric bill is VERY high, the apartment always feels cold on the first floor and really hot on the second, mainly because of the vaulted ceiling in the living room, all the heat from the 1st floor goes up. But again, its a compromise because I am so happy with all the space I have. The oven always cooks hotter than it should, for instance, if you have to cook something at 350 degrees for 30 minutes, you better check it at 20 minutes, it is probably going to be done. Or turn down the heat a bit. I also wonder how much would be saved in my utility bill if the rusted old cooling/heating units outside my apartment were updated with more energy efficient models.

All in all, I have been very happy here. I have had many friends over for casual parties and get togethers, the space in the apartment has easily accomodated 14 adults. Everyone comments on how lovely my apartment is. I will be sad to leave this complex, which I will have to do at the end of this lease term because I need to move closer to downtown Dallas, but I will have enjoyed my time here. Sometimes its easier to complain about the obvious than to find good in the modest. This complex doesnt come with a ton of bells and whistles, but they certainly try hard, harder than most new complexs, and I give the staff kudos.
