I lived in Highlands of Preston for a few months in early 2000 (I left only because I relocated out of state for work). The apartments are cute and solidly built. The apartments are set up with interior private stairs for upper apartments (everyone's front door is on the lower level, accessed through a private gated patio - small for upstairs people and larger for the downstairs people). The sound is well buffered since the shared walls are situated such that it's impractical to put anything noisy against them (stairs & the side of the dining area/kitchen on one side and the end of the bathroom/walkin closets on the other). The only noise I ever heard from within the building was the faint sound of the pipes when my neighbor ran his shower. I never heard any noise transfer from underneath. I also had several parties while I lived there, and had no complaints from my neighbors (we weren't obnoxious, but weren't totally silent, either).

Parking was never a problem for me (I didn't have covered parking... although I seem to recall they were adding it later that year') The location was great - Ohio Drive is relatively quiet, but there is a ton of shopping and restaurants within walking distance, including two major grocery stores and a big Target.

I never used the pool or jacuzzi, but I did use the exercise room and it was never too crowded.

I had to break my lease when I moved, which I did get charged for, but it was less than I expected based on the provisions in my lease (I was charged less than a month's extra rent). I also had to move on fairly short notice, so I relied on the management to let the movers and goodwill into my apartment to pick up my stuff and some furniture I was donating. It all went off without a hitch (although don't get me started on the movers!)
