I moved in October 2003.

Overall an OK place. I am sure it depends a lot on what building your in as far as noise and disrespectful neighbors.

Not a good place for children. There is nowhere for them to play except the parking lot, which is --WAY-- too dangerous to even consider. Even so, some allow thier little ones to play there unattended.

The manager is perhaps a bit immature, but I have experienced much worse elsewhere. The office staff never seems to understand why you are talking to them. They kind of just stand there looking at you like, "why are you telling me this" when you ask a question or try to bring something to their attention. I often leave wondering if they actually understood and if they are going to respond or not. Too--you will find the office conveniently closed from 10-11 AM and sometimes 2-5 on any given day, but only when you need something. I suspect they just close-up whenever there is something more entertaining to do than mind the shop. Perhaps they are out shopping for larger speed bumps (see below).

Get ready for the notices. Sometimes you can get 2 or three on the same day at different times. One contradicts the other and the third may leave you completely mystified. You really have to see the humor in it or it may drive you nuts. You may get notice at 5:00PM today that will need to make arrangements for repairs tomorrow at 8:00AM....just be sure to check your door every hour or to keep yourself informed of the latest developments. I recommend getting a roommate if your single so you can take turns covering "notice watch duty". Collect them all...trade them with your friends..display them proudly for your guests to enjoy.

The speed bumps...correction...third-world- suspension-mangling-vehicle-barriers. There are only two, one at the entrance and exit. I recommend an off-road truck with 6" lift kits. PLEASE HIGHWOOD..have some mercy on your hard working residents and take a couple of inches off these bad boys...we can't afford the car repairs!

Overall, this is an OK property. The rent is decent and they keep the property pretty clean. They have at least one police officer who lives on the property and he or she apparently does respond to complaints when they are on property. There are some unruly neighbors, but have you ever been without them'

If you are looking for reasonable rent, have lots of patience, a flexible schedule and a great sense of humor, give them a try.
