Highwood going downhill fast

I am the roomate of the post below mine. Like he said, we moved here in May 2003 and it was a really decent place with minimal noise and polite neighbors. That has since changed to what is now something out of south dallas instead of plano. It really shocks me the quality of this apartment community and quality of residents are so terrible for such an unkept city like plano. Lately it seems the only people moving in speak anything but english and they haven't quite mastered the concept of trash cans. As my roomy said, there are always beer bottles all over the stairs and surrounding grass. Often times tenants will stand in an empty parking spot in front of your apartment and not move when you try to park. I avoid future problems and park elsewhere, chances are they don't have insurance to cover keying my car. In the past 5 months, there has been a suicide (a girl hung herself on a tree) and an "incedent" involving little teenager punk types. The office is closed only at your convenience and probably will not be open from 10am till 3pm. The speed bumps are huge but more annoying than anything. I have a toyota car that gets over them easily at 10mph. The entrance gate has been broken for about a year and half. The exit gate sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. The office staff doesn't really seem to have a clue and when you actually talk to them I think they only know spanish, even though they are white. My front door has terrible weather stripping and gets so sticky during rain and humid days that I have to shove my shoulder into the door to open it. About 6 months ago, they repainted the outside of complex and left a tarp on my patio and painted over my plants (even though they were dead), my bike, and my windchimes.

On a good note, whenever I have had a work order, the maintenence staff has been very prompt. I would not advise anyone to live here unless you were in need of poor housing in plano. Since moving here, the market rate for my apartment has lowered $200 from what I am paying now.
