The good:
Nice area and close to stores. Cheap rent.

The annoyances:
Kids and lots of them yelling and screaming outside. Neighbors that think Tuesday is party day since that's their off day. The Mexican music that they play very loud as well. No I can't stand the same base line for every song. The recent dark brown paint they used on the brick, which holds the heat very well in the summer. The parking lot that had pot holes the size of a Yugo. The newly paved parking lot with newly developing potholes. The icemaker that doesn't work. The water that leaks in during the rain via the exhaust vent on the stove.

The bad:
Management that doesn t seem to care after you move in. Maintenance that can t think past the request. Lack of screen on windows and the sliding glass door. Poor insulation and high energy using appliances. The high electricity bills. The water shut offs without notice. The failure to pay notice that took them 3 hours to resolve when presented with a copy of the check they signed and deposited. The lack of interest to keep a long term resident.

The ugly:
The new policy requiring all residents to get renters insurance and the lack of the office willing to tell you about the Insurance you can get at the office as advertised on their renewal notice. The water leak that resulted in the down stairs neighbors ceiling caving in before they would fix it. The smell generated from your down stairs neighbors every time they cook. No it s not cherry pies and cookies. It s more fried crap or burning beans that never smell good. At least I dropped a few pounds by never wanting to eat anything fried ever again. The foundation that would go up and down that you eventually accept that the top dead bolt won t be used and remove the kick place for the keyed one so you can at least somewhat lock your apartment. The fact that management took a week to fix a lease breaking issue in regards to the locks.

The reason for leaving:
Simply put the apartment is cheap and I probably would have stayed. However they now require all new and old residents to get renters insurance. Which would have been fine if they would have been more attentive when I called to inquire about the insurance provided through the office. However upon calling I was greeted by a staff member that didn t care to explain anything about it and sounded more like she was bothered that I had even called. So if I add the cost of renters insurance, rent, water/sewage, and partially the higher than most electricity, I come to an amount that can pay for a by far better apartment. So I m off to look for greener pastures.

Should you move here' No. It s cheap and for a reason.
