Changed my mind ...

I originally posted a review about this complex a few months after I first moved in and was, at the time, pretty pleased ... now, going on over a year and a half of living there (it will be 2 years this May), I have to say I completely agree with all the complaints on this site.

First off, let me preface by saying that every single thing that could possibly go wrong in my apartment has, and that you literally have to ride the maintenance and management staff to get them to do ANYTHING.

My washer and dryer broke once, and it took them 3 WEEKS to replace it. When they finally did replace it, they brought in a unit that was bigger than my previous one, which means they had to take the sliding doors off the track to the "laundry room" (meaning like a 3'x3' hole in the wall) and couldn't put them back on because of the new unit's size, so they just left them leaning against a wall ... which means I had to shove them (the doors) into my closet (one of 2, thanks), and I now can't use about half of it (the closet). They also chipped huge chunks of my kitchen floor in the process, which I had to cover with a rug.

My air conditioning has also gone out AT LEAST 4 or 5 times (apparently ants kept getting into the converter switch, and when I complained about that, they first suggested I buy some ant killer and finally they put a cover on the switch) in the Texas summer, my heating went out in the winter ...

The hot water goes out on a regular basis, but it's not predictable, so you never know when you might not be able to shower before work. This is because there are only 2 water boilers for the ENTIRE complex, they keep breaking, and the management doesn't want to pay to have them completely fixed and so just patches it up each time it breaks.

Yes, the utility bills are ridiculous for a 700 square foot, one bedroom apartment.

I also have a squirrel infestation in my attic, which -so far- has cost me over $200 in having the Verizon techs come out and look at things, only to deduce that the apt management had to take care of it by having someone rid the squirrels in the attic and run a new line (they had chewed through my phone and internet cables). I was out of phone and internet for almost 3 weeks. The managament didn't want to pay to do this, so they ghetto-rigged a new line running along the outside of my building, stapled to the top of my back patio, drilled holes in my wall and ran the new cable (yes, I'm serious) across MY LIVING ROOM CARPET, which I have now had to hide beneath a rug.

The bath tub linoleum peels every time I wash it.

The squirrels are still in my attic and keep me awake sometimes with their chewing/nesting.

A couple of apartment units burned almost completely down last year when some other squirrels chewed through some electrical wires.

We also had a bomb threat in my building only last fourth of July.

The neighbors are often unbearably loud. One retired lady has taken it upon herself to "expand" her pack patio and has placed two chairs (probably about 15 to 20 feet away from her REAL patio) directly below my second story window ... she sits below and gabs all day long, every day. Another "family" of about 20 people in another unit in my building has absolutely no control over their children, and they are often out running about the tennis court, screaming and yelling. Once, I had to go and ask them to be quiet myself because it was 10:00pm on a Sunday, and I was trying to sleep. When I realized they didn't speak a word of English, my frustration doubled.

There are steps on my walkway that I guess someone was tripping on ... to "warn" people of these, they have painted the front of them a bright, hideous blue. This looks amazing (sarcasm) with the puke-brown color they painted the apartments last year. At first I thought it was temporary for them to maybe level the steps into ramps, but then I realized, no, their tactic is literally to catch people's eye with the obnoxious blue-painted steps. CAN WE SAY TACKY''''

Needless to say, I am getting the HELL out of here when my lease expires in July and would not recommend these apartments to anyone. k6tKKzmJrmATU2ap682S
