At first glance, these apartments seem mediocre at best. After nearly a year, I know that is giving them too much credit. With all the complexes to choose from in the area, and much nicer ones, at that, I must say I had to have chosen La Costa because every place else was booked on my desired move-in date.. That should have been my first sign to run away. But alas, I didn't. Again, I should have seen a little red flag when they told me that they could have the apartment ready so quickly.. which of course meant that they would skip most standard (if not ALL) make-ready procedures and leave the apartment not only half-assed cleaned, but they did such a wonderful job on the paint that I know how long the previous tenant's hair was, and that they had a slight bug problem.. Not to mention the sticky yellow substance (I don't even wanna know..) that they promised would be cleaned from my (ENTIRE)garage floor during my first week, and I still have to tip toe on it every day when I go to my car(oh yes.. several months later). The pools are horrible 98% of the time, and the only two times early on when I actually dared to swim in one, it felt like I had food poisoning for 2 days after each. (Oh I'm on to you now, and you shall not get me a third time, you tricky tricky demon pool.) If you have no other choice, by all means go to La Costa.. Just keep your kids away from ALL the pools and railing (every one Ive seen has had giant screws missing or about to be), have your own W/D (these things are older than me, and if it breaks, you get an older one), and have an apartment guide handy for when you can finaly make your escape.. I know I've had mine by my side since my second month here. But just to end this on a good note (I saved the only ones I have for the end) The staff seems friendly, the computers usually work, and the maintenance is, or at least has been recently, responsive and timely. (though if you have to relay a request through one of the girls, don't hold your breath. They act as if they all should still be in training.)

Good luck to all who end up here and keep smiling, La Costa! It's all you've got. :-)
