Me and my husband lived there for a year , and when we were about to leave we were told by the management that they didn't have our 60 days move out notice. After I gave them a copy they said that they are sorry ,since there were new employes and new management coming in and out every month, somebody must have misplaced it. and that it will be taken care of.
Six or 8 months later , I come to find out that I owe $1500 and it is on my credit report, and I have collection agency calling me about it.
If anybody have been in a similar situation, please reply, since I know you can't fight a collection agency, but may be something can be done about these apartments.
P.S. I still have a copy of my move out notice.

you need to go through the texas attorney general. They have to file a consumer complaint reguarding due prosses and dilligence in getting you your final bill as well as the regulatory conduct in obtaining fals debt. You can also get iformation from the texas property code site. I forget what its called but there is a way to claim that they did not follow the correct proceedure to collect payment. Above all else send a dispute letter to the collection compnay as soon as possible and they will have to send you proof of debt or drop the collection. Good Luck - dealing with these people suck- that's why I quit the buisness.
