This is our second time living here at La Costa. We didn't have such a great time the first time we lived here, but that had NOTHING to do with the community itself. We were harrassed and threatened and ultimately ended up moving out under police supervision. Management was pretty good with the whole situation...they did as much as they could to help us out. We still had to pay a reletting fee upon early move-out, but they did reduce the amount as much as possible.

Now we've moved back. It's been 3 years since we first lived here and we loved the community so much that we decided to move back. New Management then before and entirely new staff. It's an apartment, so what can I really say about it'' It has it's moments where the noise can get to be too much, but that's usually due to the neighborhood kids riding around on their bikes. But, we do have two really noisy neighbors that we could really do without. Both of them seem to be running autoshops right out of their garage. And I must say, office staff and management don't really seem to do a lot about it either, even though what these people are doing is a CLEAR violation of our lease contract.

The grounds are well maintained, although I wish RESIDENTS would pick up their dog's poop!! I refuse to let my two young sons go run in the grass because it's covered in dog poop. The poop is often cleaned up by the lawn maintainence guys, even though it's the RESIDENTS who should clean it up!!

Both pools have been re-vamped. That's nice!! A lot of the cracked cement has been fixed as well. They finally fired the people who were in charge of trash pick-up and have the maintainence guys do it...so now it is picked up before 8 o'clock in the morning. I only wish certain residents that live near me would adhere to the rules and not set their many bags of trash out the night before.

Not everyone keeps their dogs on a leash. That bugs me a lot. When the weather is cooler I take my boys on walks and one certain owner of a black dog near the front by the office never puts his dog on a leash. This is the same dog who chased my older son!!

As you can tell, the majority of my complaints are against the residents who live here, not the community or the office staff. The previous Manager really let who ever and whatever move in and there are some pretty ghetto people here. But, I'll bet you anything when their leases are up and they see that they will no longer be paying their "cheap" rent, they'll move on. Anytime that we have had complaint with anything, the office staff has promptly addressed it. Be it a neighbor not putting his dog on a leash or neighbors blasting their music/base so loud that it was shaking my baby's crib....things have been taken care of.

We weren't so sure we still liked this place when we moved back a year ago, but since Jessica took over, things have started to look up. I just cannot wait until the hillbillies at the end of my building get a clue and move out.
