We livd at Lacosta for a little over a year near the back pool which is over by Spring Creek. Unfortunately, after we moved in the staff let nothing but trash move in, I am not sure if the occupancy was low considering the FREE RENT sign that was attached to the end of the building which is at the intersection of Spring Creek and Ohio or if they simply stopped doing credit and criminal checks. We actually put our notice in right when we had received a renewal letter, and actually ended up moving out earlier due to this: I lived with my brother, he came home one evening and came in and woke me up because when he had parked his truck to walk upstairs an SUV pulled in right behind him and backed his car in besides my brothers truck and was staring at our apartment chain smoking. After about 15 minutes when we called the police, two patrol cars came out and searched the guy. He stated that his friends lived in this building, however we had never seen him before. After they searched his car the arrested him, he was a pedophile with god knows what in his car because they officers were so shocked they would not tell us. Keep in mind this is maybe two months after the lady was raped and another resident held at gunpoint AND NO LETTER OR NOTIFICATION was sent out as caution to other residents. Needless to say we both called into work the next day, went and found a new apartment elsewhere and were out of this slum within 48 hours. Please be cautious renting here, I am lucky to be out of La Costa! I would not reccomend this place to anyone, what type of community and staff fails to let residents know when someone has been sexually assaulted and another taken at gunpoint while at their car and robbed. Clearly the office staff is not intelligent enough to even be concerned and cover themselves with a letter.

Hi, I am the Manager here at La Costa & would like to address your comments made. All criminal activities are reported immediately to management & nothing of the sort has been reported to us. Something of that severity would have been addressed to the community in a letter, but that act did not take place. We have a Plano police officer that lives on site & he confirmed that situation never occured. I just wanted to clarify your mis-information. Thank you.

You're right, some not-so-pleasant people were allowed to move in a while back. But, the dates you put of when you lived here are from 2005 to 2007. That manager from then is not here anymore, she was fired. And all of those not-so-pleasant people have either been kicked out or were weeded out when their rent was raised at renewal. This is a good place to live. And what took you so long to write a review when you haven't lived here for at least a year? La Costa is a very different place, even from a year and a half ago when my family and I moved in. So take your negative, false information somewhere else. We don't need it here.

I Did live there, and I did post this about the community. I am a Real Estate Agent now and there are times when I need to do short term leases in apartments for my clients. Sharon leased to me when I had a one bedroom and when I moved over to a two bedroom. And yes a female was sexually assaulted, and yes another resident was held at gunpoint and robbed. And NO, no residents received any notification, and I do remember clearly. And shortly after a 35 year old male who has a criminal record and is a pedophile was arrested in front of our building by the back pool right off of spring creek pkwy. Trust me, I moved out early paid all of the fees and vacated the unit within 48 hours. I am very aware of my surroundings at all time and this did happen at La Costa. Thank you.
