THANK GOD I DIDN'T SIGN A LEASE
From: -Anonymous-Date posted: 4/15/2009
Years at this apartment: 2009 - 2009
I'm a big believer in customer service and this place is lacking it, in spades. I thank my guardian angel for protecting me from signing a lease with this place, because if it was this much of a problem from the beginning, I can only imagine what the next year would have been like.
First, I went and looked at the apartment, they had a great Look and Lease special going on and I have to admit the fact that all apartments come with an attached garage is very appealing. I went ahead and paid the $40 application fee (which is a joke within itself).
An apartment was going to be available when I wanted, 2 1/2 months later, so I was told by the all "knowledgeable" leasing agent, I could put a hold on the apartment by paying the "security deposit". But I didn't want to pay the deposit yet (I have had my fair share of shady apartment complexes), so HE told me that he would make a carbon copy of my credit card and it wouldn't be charged until I approved it. I didn't want this on my credit card; it was such a small amount, that I rather pay it from my banking account. HE told me not a problem, that when I was approved, he'd give me a call and let me know then I could come in and pay. LIE.
Why is it a LIE - because he never called, I called , twice, and didn't even talk to HIM but to someone else in the office and they told me I was approved, but never said anything about charging my card (that was discovered when I received my next statement).
So before this little charge discovery, I went back so I could sign the lease and pay the deposit, the refundable security deposit. Not the non-refundable hold my place deposit. I tried twice and neither time was the lease ready for me to sign, once due to technical difficulties and the other due to incompetency.
So, finally find the charge and call to ask about it, nobody answers the phone. Then a situation arises where I won't be able to move into the apartment. So I call to ask for a refund for my "security deposit" and am told "no refund". WHAT'''
Explanation - I kept the apartment, which is still inhabited; off the market with the other ones that are sitting vacant....are you serious''''
Then HE had the nerve to tell me HE called me...they're called cell phone records and I have proof and HE didn't.
Don't tell me one thing and do another...that's called Fraud.
So in the end it's an older apartment complex with a couple nice options and crappy customer service.
