The management staff here will take you for quite the ride
I moved in the first of June. At first, I was amazed by how beautiful the 'industrial' style apartment looked. I had just moved here so I assumed the rent was fair. The moment I made friends in the city I noticed I had been ripped off and basically scammed. I had a 650 square foot studio apartment and was paying hundreds and hundreds of dollars more than my friends who had 3 bedroom homes, 2 story town houses, and luxury condos!

That was just number one of the bad experiences. In September somebody smashed into my car in the parking garage, didn't leave a note, didn't leave ANYTHING except my bumper laying in the garage. and $3,000 in damage on the front left corner of my 3 month old car. I went to the leasing office and asked if they had video cameras set up, they told me no. I asked of the number or name of their insurance company so I could at least explain the structure of the garage so that my insurance would cover the cost of my damage, they refused. Told me it wasn't their fault. Which, true it wasnt but it IS their fault that they have had 25 people in the last month and a half ALONE complain about the structure of their parking garage and have written off every single one of them (and that is a number that i have researched). Not ONLY that but if you get home past 5pm good look finding a parking spot. and good look finding parking on the street too. Or at least a spot where you won't get ticketed!!

After dishing out $3,000 to pay for the damage caused because of the horrible structure of their parking garage I adopted a puppy. The day before adopting him I had went down to the leasing office to add him to my pet addendum. About two months after having him I got a notice that the disturbance from his barking when I was at work was bothering my neighbors and that he WASNT on my pet addendum. Though it didn't seem like much of a problem at first. An apology to my neighbor seemed to smooth him over, and there was a petsmart next to my office so I started bringing him to doggy day care while I was at work (he NEVER barks when im home.) i also brought my copy of my pet addendum to the office and they apologized and 'updated it in the system'.. and yet i continued to get "your dog is continuing to disturb your neighbors while you are at work" notes inside my apartment after work. So I went down to the management staff and they told me it was no problem, they understood yadda yadda. they didnt get the picture HE WASNT HOME WHEN I WASNT. finally i got an eviction notice because of it and when i tried to fight it because HE WASNT HOME WHEN I WASNT!! they took me to a civil court hearing where I lost, because its their word vs mine. Even though i had in my hands my bills from petsmart, the judge didnt even care to look at them. the clerk when i signed in had told me "this is just a hearing, no evidence is needed" basically telling me before i even stood in front of the judge that their decision was in lakesides favor. great.

on top of all of that ridiculousness, Ive witness some ridiculous other acts in this complex as well. One night coming home on a weekend I saw a guy walking out of an apartment and a girl NUDE running after him about half way down the hall. I put in a maintenance request about my broken dishwasher the day i moved in. low and behold it was still unfixed by the time i moved out (7 months later) The people below me CONTINUOUSLY would get so plastered that when they came home they would accidentally come to MY apartment and try to get in. at ridiculous hours, like 2/3am. I would have to go to the door and explain that the reason they couldnt get in is because its NOT THEIR APARTMENT!


so, if you want to be harassed for things that you never did, end up with a wrecked car, pay double the asking price for any decent apartment, and feel like you live in a college dorm HERE YA GO.
