THIS PLACE SUCKS
From: -Anonymous-Date posted: 12/5/2008
Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2008
I lived at The Legends for about a year and a half. My sister and brother-in-law also live in the complex. We've both had problems with them. Not only did they manage to apply my brother-in-law's rent check towards MY rent somehow THREE TIMES (while sending my brother-in-law a Failure To Pay Rent warning), my apartment wasn't clean when I moved in. The manager tried to convince me, as if I'm an idiot, that the apartment had been settling with no one living there for a long time and that was why it "seemed" dirty. She refused to come look at it so I could show her the obvious filth, and after arguing with her for some time, she finally considered she could be wrong (imagine that) when I mentioned soap scum on the soap dish in the shower and stains on the countertops. When she did realize it was dirty, she said she would send a cleaning crew in the morning (makes a lot of sense that I would have to clean it myself so I could move my things in, and then let the cleaning crew clean it again for no reason the next day). I demanded money off my rent if that was going to be the case, and she hesitantly agreed to have a cleaning crew come clean that same night.
Then early one morning, my roof sprung a leak during a bad storm and it was raining in 3 spots in my living room. I put buckets under the leaks, but they were filling fast, so I called emergency maintenance. The guy acted angry that I called EMERGENCY maintenance and disturbed him! He said he would be over and after AN HOUR AND A HALF later, I called him again to make sure he was on his way or if there was something I should be doing differently and he said, "ugh! you have to give me time to get up and get ready for work!" and then hung up on me. He came in at the normal maintenance hours TWO AND A HALF HOURS AFTER I ORIGINALLY CALLED.
Now I've happily gotten away from them (I thought) since June and I just received a bill from a debt collector for The Legends. Apparently it's for my last two water bills WHICH I NEVER RECEIVED. I had called a month or two after I moved out to make sure I had no outstanding balances or anything (I was paranoid because they suck so bad) and I was told everything looked clear. But now I have to deal with these debt collectors and making sure this doesn't appear on my credit. All of my other mail had been forwarded from my Legends address, it is a little suspicious that those bills got lost!
You'll regret living there because the management sucks. The ONLY way to get things taken care of is to threaten to call their management company. You'll be surprised at the change in their voices when you do so....
