My name is Susan and I've lived at Lincoln almost since the day the doors opened. It'll be 7 years as of 10/31/06 so I think I'm in a position to make legitimate comments, and in no way do my experiences match some of the comments on this site.
Nothing in life is perfect, but guess what' I owned my own homes for 25 years and things weren't perfect. Sometimes neighbors would move in that I didn't care for. Things broke. People tossed trash out of their car windows and it ended up in my yard. Things needed to be painted, repaired, replaced, etc., etc., etc. But back then, I didn't have Robert to call on for timely repairs. I didn't have Cindy to call when neighbors were unruly. As for the office staff, I've known most of them quite well and those nasty comments are totally inappropriate and childish.
Now...a few years ago when I had surgery and was unable to drive, a staff member went to the pharmacy to pick up my medication - on their own time. And...staff checked on me frequently!! Even now, I have a very sick dog and a staff member checks my dog on his own time a couple of times a day while I'm working. Try finding that somewhere else.
Yep. Parking isn't always the greatest. Insulation isn't the greatest. Carpet quality is poor (I've lived here long enough to know that carpet frequently has to be completely replaced after a resident has lived in an apartment only a few months so why would they install expensive carpet''').
For those that are so unhappy, I'd suggest you move elsewhere. You are the type that make the community an unhappy place, and unfortunately, I suspect you'll be unhappy anywhere you live. And further, I'd suggest you keep your comments objective if you want to have any credibility. Commenting on the "personal hygiene" of office staff is trashy and childish, not to mention uncalled for.
For anyone wanting to hear the honest and real pros and cons of Lincoln, leave your name/phone with the manager and I'll be happy to give you a call.
