1.The office staff has been great to us. We leased with Kirsten, but have dealt with Courtney, Jenny, Savannah to name a few. They aren't so great with returning non-emergency calls right away, but they are here to help. The first day we moved in the ac was out. I called in on a Saturday, and within 10 minutes the maintenance man was here. He came back several times that day to check in to make sure things were ok.
2.The walls are normal for an apartment. Our neighbors on our floor (the 3rd) had a party this past weekend and I didn't hear anything except for one loud woohoo. We have a yappy dog across the hall, but I haven't been annoyed by it when I'm in my apartment. RESIDENTS can be noisy. We lucked out in a nice building with respectful residents. You will have noisy residents anywhere you go people.
3.We have an apartment with the master bedroom facing the setting sun. Yes it is warmer than the other bedroom, but not a big deal. In the winter it is the coldest room of the apartment. The apartment is in decent condition, better than most. We wrote down the knife marks on the counters and the dye marks in the bathroom on our move-in sheet. It's not a problem for us. The appliances work well. The dishwasher is our biggest complaint there, but nothing out of the ordinary for an apt. Monthly dishwasher cleaner cycles work well.
4.The laundry facilities could be improved. There is no coin machine so you must bring your own quarters. A little inconvenient, but easy to live with. The RESIDENTS are not courteous when it comes to labeling non-working machines. The RESIDENTS also like to open your dryer and not turn it back on when they close it back up. The complex rents out washers and dryers for $35/mo or you can rent them from appliance renters.
5.The parking specials are great. $40 for a garage and $10 for covered parking. We also enjoy being able to view and pay our rent and water bill online. I love living near the asian market (cheap prices for produce), walmart, several gas stations, fast food, and movie theater. Easy access to hwy 75.
6.The first month we moved in, there were 2 break-ins in the community. 4-5 months later and no problem. I feel safe walking to the mailboxes at night, or walking across the grassy areas to get to my apt. One night I even had a gentleman who was patrolling the grounds say hello. Watch where you walk because RESIDENTS don't clean up after their pets.
7.My biggest complaint, the electric bill. I suggest shrink-wrap kits for the windows during the winter. They help insulate your apt so you lose less heat. You live in an apt. They have less insulation and cheaper windows. These are things you can expect.
8. Trash days are Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. There is a dumpster here, if you open your eyes. It is near the laundry facility. 3 trash days are more than you can expect from a lot of places. Some RESIDENTS do leave random trash out whenever they feel like it. Hard to stop that when no one knows when it happens.
Overall, I am very happy here. We used to live in Spring Creek Apts (now called Giovanna). The Madison is 100x better. We lived over there before they went downhill and it was horrible. Our best friend lives here in the complex as well. He moved from Steeplechase. He is much happier here than over there.
For the rent, it is a steal to live here. It has been a pleasure. I discouraged my husband from renting here when I read all of these reviews. Our best friend moved here before we did. We stayed here with him for a few days to find out how things REALLY are. It is not as bad as you may read. I still would stick away from the buildings near the stadium tho lol.
