I lived at McDermott Place since 2006 in a couple of different units.
When I first moved in, it was great! Apartments were well kept and maintenance was quick to fix any issues.
Fast forward to 2008.
The buildings are in need of SERIOUS painting - they have not painted since 2005 and it shows! The paint is chipping and cracking and looks horrible!
The paint I could deal with - but the noise - it's ridiculous! IF you have an apartment with a garage - you have no one over you - sounds great, huh' It's not - the A/C is very expensive to run on the upstairs unit and you can hear the neighbors garage doors open and close - some people are in an out so many times, I'm surprised they even work!
IF you live in a downstairs unit - hold on, because you can hear EVERYTHING from the upstairs neighbors - their walking, closing doors, dishwasher, garbage disposal, TV, and music.
On top of the noise - you have to HOPE really hard that you are not above or under a family that likes to cook strong odorous foods because their smells become part of YOUR apartment! I have had to buy air ionizers, candles, incense, and air fresheners.
So...if you like living in a home where the outside is going downhill fast, the gates never work (why have them'), the maintenance comes when they are good and ready or not at all, then this is the place for you.
If you enjoy walking on the grass only to discover dog droppings everywhere which pet owners have not picked up - then this is the place for you.
IF you like to hear ALL of your neighbors noise (walking on your head or garage doors opening and closing) and smell all their strong odorous cooking - If you like these sorts of things - you have found your next home!

The complaints have reached the bottom of the pit.Perhaps the property should be sold for low class housing.
SIMPSON PROPERTIES NOW HAS SEVERAL PROPERTIES IN DIRE NEED OF REPAIRS.
Those of us trained in management understand SERVICE. The staff at McDermott is only thinking of the dollar.In bad times the dollar is not given away and poor service results in losses.Residents will find more suitable housing where they are welcomed not shunned.
