Old Shepherd Place Apartments

From: -Anonymous- Date posted: 6/7/2004 Years at this apartment: 2000 - 2004   I am still living there, but only because I hate to have to move and the huge expense that goes with it. The place was much much better when I moved in 4 years ago when we were under much better management. All the old staff has left and the new management sucks! The place looks nice as long as you do not look close. The FREAKING GATES are always broke. When I moved in four years ago the told me that they had set aside money in their budget to have new gates put in and now four years later they are still crap and not a darn thing has been done!!!! The gates do not work more than half of the time so you have to hunt a way in or wait for someone to push the gates open. It really sucks! When you call the office to complain they always tell you they have set aside the money to have them replaced but like I stated before nothing at all has been done. Also there is a problem with the a/c units. I had mine checked out by several different companies on my own out of pocket and they tell me that the units that are in place are to small to keep the place adequately cool and that is why I have a $200. Elect bill in the summer and I have the thermostat set a 81 in the summer. Also the area around the pool needs a lot of work but still is nice. This used to be a great place to live and really felt like a home but the place is going down hill fast and the management is the ones driving it. All in all there are worse places to live and I have seen them. If they were to get rid of all the staff in the office and start over and have every thing fixed it could be a great place to live again. It is in a great location but what is location if you do not have quality.
